reviewing written procedures

 at work i was sent an attachment and the written procedure was in it. so i spent part of my morning reviewing it. looks like it hadn't been updated in a while as some of those things i hadn't used at all. i performed in the evening near the end of the night and spoke of going to the charlie brown exhibit.

charles schulz exhibit

 just before midday i went to the exhibit at the minnesota history center in st. paul about the life and art of charles schulz. it had just opened a week earlier and i wasn't planning on going this early but somebody wanted to interview me about it. i got laundry done in the morning then went to the museum. i was wearing my charlie brown trucker hat and the 'it's all good in the hood' shirt with charlie snoopy schroeder linus and pigpen. i spoke of my earliest stories of being a charlie brown fan, it was likely when i finished second in a reading contest in second grade and my prize was the 'great pumpkin' book. along with having my hair cut by somebody who really was named charlie brown and he had those books in his shop for us kids to read. plenty of merchandise there, one thing i hadn't seen before. it was a life jacket. i did have a decent amount of the merchandise on display. nice to see the part about camp snoopy. i was surprised by how many stories i was able to think of related to the comic strip. we did do a photo at lucy's help center. since this is the second time i have been interviewed i saw it as ring of honor worthy. his book was in one of the souvenir shops about the twin city comedy scene in the days of tom arnold so i bought it. there was some charlie brown items as well but i either already had similar items or they were kind of expensive. i had a sandwich in the cafe and then got another look after the interview was done, staying for another hour. i wanted to be satisfied with seeing all of it and getting plenty of pictures as well. i let the interviewer know he was free to use any photos from my facebook page that were relevant to the story. there are 63 in the charlie brown and snoopy album, i am in 3 of them. when i got home i laid down for a little while and then watched 'the simpsons'. what the family would have been like as a bart-less wedding. during my walks i found 1 dollar 19 cents.

extreme ice cream

 in the afternoon i went to the greek festival at a church in st. paul and near it i saw am ice cream cart. it was extreme ice cream and run by newsboy hat. she had been on the radio about it, first time i had found it. i had a drumstick and then it was off to the festival. i had a gyro and fries and  mythos beer. inside there was sweets and i had a filaka, it had coconut and meringue. i watched the dancers in the tent and some of the music sounded familiar. a table selling spices had a name that reminded me of the TV show 'perfect strangers' as it was called 'yaya b'. i had done research and found out in some countries the show was called 'a greek captures chicago'. i did a church tour and by then i had been there for more than an hour and was tired so i went home. i was parked near the governor mansion, plenty of protest signs in front of it. in the morning i did volunteer training from the fringe festival. i got my shirt and a volunteer card which looks like a credit card. later on i went to aldi for groceries, and watched the Fox baseball game of the week, yanks-orioles, yanks won 8-3. i also left a meetup group that was starting to charge a membership fee as it was the first meetup group i am in to do so. i had been to one event and they often duplicated events so i likely won't miss it much. i was in the group for just under three months. now i am down to six groups. during my walks i found 62 cents.

two tickets closed

 i had to make calls this morning to get two tickets closed. one of them was about the internet service tech, who had arrived the previous day. no advance notice it was being moved up. modem was unplugged, had to see if it was running well again and it is. when it wouldn't let me update the ticket it meant telling the tech so he could close it. the other was the rental car company. had not seen the final receipt from returning the car after hours since i was back from new ulm and they got it closed as well. it was why i kept saying 'case closed' every so often throughout the day as it is nice to get some things crossed off my list. at work i picked up a box from the branch near the end of the day, likely the maintenance kit. otherwise it was a fairly routine day. after work i went in person to UPS to ask about a tracking number with no activity since early in the month. i was emailed two numbers and i received the second one. i was advised to ask for a manager on monday or call an 800 number. went to hy-ee in eagan in the evening and it was a small grocery order, six items. later on i went on a walk and found 2 dollars 11 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when the friends went on a scavenger hunt while howard and amy end it with singing neil diamond karaoke. it was followed by the one where amy picked out a wedding dress and sheldon tried to get science funding in las vegas.

needed a spare kit

 first day back after the day off. as usual there are things i discover were not done. or in this case were done and didn't ask for. vacation replacement said the maintenance kit on the check printer was swapped out, already did that a week earlier. what i needed was a spare. so i added more notes to the ticket. sounds like i will be training another vacation replacement soon as one of them was out of the office. drank the can of pirate water with the evening meal and last week it was the fulton. this week i got a bottle of coors light and a can of udofot along with the pirate water so now there are four beers waiting. later on i went on a walk and found 10 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when raj talks, it was a season finale. it was followed by the one where we meet denise at the comic book store.

turner festival, new ulm

 day off from work, went to turner festival in new ulm. loved the art display, had some charlie brown christmas cards in it. saw some candle pins for bowling as well. saw the parade and opening ceremony. stopped in jordan on the way back home and got a can of coca cola and a box of cheerios. 

splash pad

 after work i went to a picnic in st louis park. found a splash pad or swimming pool there. tech arrived and envelope stuffer is sealing again. 

Gamed with evil

 I performed in the evening and noticed a doctored photo near the stage of the regular show runner who is absent for a few weeks. It asked if you have gamed with evil. I went on early which is what I prefer, and did the bank stories and being at the twins game. At work the parts arrived in the afternoon, branch manager brought the box to me. I let the tech know they had arrived but unsure when the tech will make it back. Forwarded an email to a colleague in another state when asked about the possible ups strike, which didn't have many solutions at this time, and still got questions I couldn't answer. 

Meet at cowboy jacks

 I did the annual alumni event at the twins baseball game this afternoon. It meant meeting at cowboy jacks, a new venifor us as our previous spot had closed. I had plenty of appetizers there and ice water, didn't need to order any beer. Then a short walk to the stadium. Twins were playing the white Sox, twins were shut out for the first eight innings but managed to tie it, 3-3. Then the won 5-4 in 12 innings. It will also be memorable for what happened early in the game, a lady just two rows in front of me was injured by a home run ball in the third inning. Before I got on the light rail to the game I decided to mend my denim jacket. After the game I watched the lady Gaga special with Tony Bennett on CBS. 

Two art galleries

 After doing test check printing I went to find an art gallery, praxis in south Minneapolis. First I went to the given address, but it was for another gallery in an ivy covered building. It mostly had dog paintings. The one I was looking for was one building over, and why the wrong address is posted online I don't know. Liked some of their art in the back, standouts were of Grant Park, and a road sign in the middle of nowhere. Work began just before midday and lasted two hours, printed just two checks. In the evening I got a sandwich at jersey Mike's.

Weird birthday cards

 I went to Hy-Vee in Eagan tonight for my customary grocery order. I saw some weird birthday cards there. One was a dog doing stand up and another had r2d2 and C-3po on it. I didn't buy either but I got pics of both. At work there was a morning visit by the tech, parts ordered. 

Co-ax outlets

 I got a modem from a different internet provider after work. Tried to set it up but seems like the co ax outlets are inactive. So another appointment has been scheduled. Looks like the test checks are ready to be sent to quality control in Oregon.  But they were sent by the i.t. rep late in the day so I am letting it roll over to the next day. Tech called and said it was most likely he would arrive to look at the machine the next morning.

Called out of team huddle

 It was a big deal to me to get called out of a team huddle in the morning. The branch manager said a delivery was waiting, it was the envelopes. There was more test checks to print, still not good enough yet. Late in the day we had two visitors looking at the envelope stuffer. It led to another service call for the machine.

Internet options

 I am reviewing my home internet options as the current one isn't working out. Stopped at a place after work. One on one meeting was moved up one day at work. Was asked to print test checks, an on again off again project. 

Search for harry and edna

 Began the day in st Louis at my hotel, the airport Hilton. Liked seeing a photo display at the airport about a couple and their travels. Landed at MSP around 12noon. Then there was errand running to do. Performed in the evening. 

snoop dogg cheese puffs

 found snoop dogg cheese puffs. cardinals won again, 8-4. 

soldier museum st louis

 went to museum before the game. cardinals beat washington 9-6. 

backpack arrived

 when i got home from work the backpack the bank said they were sending was there. i wasn't sure what day it was arriving, but was told they were unable to change the delivery address to the office i work in. at work i got caught up on running checks through. i expected this much since the volume was lower. and i decided to get two tubs in the rotation since two had not been returned. so it meant when i had the time i peeled the airline stickers off and placed labels on both with my mail code and name on them. i think one was sent when i was asking for more inter-office envelopes, and i am keeping one to hold those since a tub is more durable than a cardboard box. check stock delivery arrived in the morning. during my walks i found 5 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard went fishing with his father in law. and it was when amy faked being sick then got spanked by sheldon. it was followed by the one where sheldon and amy are testing their friends for who should be in the wedding party. i liked it because penny calls amy an idiot and then amy runs to hug her, saying 'bestie'.

supply order delayed

 notable about the day at work was asking about the monthly supply order. i hadn't seen anything yet and found out it was delayed. it was finally officially placed, guess the final 'hit the send button function' didn't happen the first time around. i held serve on getting checks run through as expected, still one day behind. in the evening i was double booked. first event was near my home. there was free pizza so i had some, it was sausage from little caesars. there was some snakes on display for the kids. i could tell one of them was afraid. i said it made sense what the handler told the kids, how it is best to stay away from the mouth if you don't want to get bit. then i went to a meetup event, it was at the former hamm's brewery on the east side of st. paul, a micro brewery called st. paul brewing. i had performed there when it was known as flat earth. i liked seeing plenty of  hamm's artifacts on the wall so i got plenty of pictures of them. and i bought three postcards, besides getting a glass of beer. it was called shamms, it was meant to taste like hamm's. an older dude who said his favorite song was BTO's 'taking care of business' i found to be annoying. he was being too loud and critical. i liked how the patio was decorated with plenty of junk art such as a grocery store cart in the air. also the spray painting on the wall of the hamm's bear, the big red one, and the saints baseball logo, all icons of the capital city. when driving home from work i like the 5pm surprise the past two days. the six songs were: the one hit wonder from crash test dummies, little lion man, dance for me monkey, feel the heat (it was in the movie 'euro vacation'), santana and michelle branch, and hanging around by counting crows. later on i went on a walk and found 5 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when the friends were in the desert doing 'star trek' photos and their car was stolen. it was followed by the one where sheldon and amy have fun in a bounce house after getting sick when trying to do a 'little house' theme for her birthday.

comparing frames

 after work i went to a target and compared poster frames as i wanted one for the iowa cubs poster from two days ago. the main thing was price, besides the size of course. it was 22 by 17 so a 24 by 18 frame fit nicely. i still went with the cheaper one after seeing what the prices were from a nearby scanner. i also got some cracker-sized cheese slices and some barbecue jack links meat. i got a look at posters rolled up in  a bag but not sure which ones i want a frame for. some were of movies and there were three that were giveaways at st. paul saints baseball games. at work i am still a day behind on getting the fargo checks run through but will likely get caught up by the end of the week. i sent two IRS envelopes to another floor and they were returned to me. i was asked to overnight them to atlanta. i was unable to find the employee they are going to in the directory as the spelling of their name on the envelope was not correct. i got a bottle of grain belt at the liquor store and drank the can of rolling rock with the evening meal so there still are three beers waiting. during my walks i found 50 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when the four friends were called into HR after sheldon threw them under the bus. it was followed by the one where raj got the job at the planetarium and penny said 'decaf, genius' when a lady wanted a date.

laser jet return labels

  a ticket about toner cartridges was finally closed this morning when i got the return labels for the laser jet cartridges i am unable to use for check printing. they were emailed and i printed them out, then applied them to the two boxes and sent them to the branch to be picked up. the branch manager said they were picked up in the afternoon by fed-ex. i got a little more caught up on running checks through now, just one day behind on the fargo checks. i got a look at the show schedule for the fringe festival next month and decided to keep it at four shows to see. now it is a matter of figuring out when to get to those shows based on other plans already made during that week and a half. also need to decide what shifts i am ushering but likely to see shows only after all my ushering shifts are done. in the evening i watched the all-star game from seattle, national league won 3-2. i noticed some pearl jam songs were played when going to commercial. one of them was 'corduroy'. later on i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 18 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard and raj bought a used 3-d printer. it was followed by the one where the friends went on a quest for bit-coin from seven years prior.

iowa cubs poster

  tech arrived to work on the envelope stuffer and it was the fellow iowan. when done he spoke of cleaning out his dad's house and said there was an iowa cubs poster from 1987 if i wanted it. and i did. i spoke of a coin collection being a good time capsule, but this poster is as well. since one of the teams in their league was denver and that city now has a major league team. and indianapolis was an expos team then. it was the year i saw the san diego chicken, and this was one of three promotions listed. along with the annual fireworks show and the exhibition with the parent club. the machine is running better now but i still need some time getting caught up on running checks through. in the evening i went to perform at an open mic and at first the show runner said they were full. i arrived just minutes after sign up opened. there was a no-show and i was the last one on before he sang 'rainbow connection' with the kermit doll. i did the bank stories and spoke of a book i bought at the loft event over the weekend. later on i went on a walk and found 12 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon and howard were fighting over a parking space. it was followed by the one where the friends were in their own version of the edison vs. tesla rivalry.

the league movie

 in the late afternoon i went to see the movie 'the league' in roseville. this was a baseball documentary, about the negro leagues. there was a good crowd on hand, i was one of nearly twenty, aided by it being the only screening of the day. i had been to the museum in kansas city, and being well read i was familiar with much of what was covered. as expected in a documentary, there was plenty of interviews with players, and one of them was with iowa native bob feller. some were with historians as well. comparisons were made between branch rickey and bill veeck signing players. notable to me was no mention of happy chandler, the commissioner after landis. after the movie was done i tried going to dairy queen but the mall was closing up as it was just after 6pm. then i went across the mall parking lot to the cane's chicken for the evening meal. and then to arby's in little canada for orange cream, since the mcdonald's said it was out of ice cream. i laid down for a while when i got back, then did dishes. during my walks i found 1 dollar 30 cents. in the morning and early afternoon i went through binders and freed up some more sheet protectors for upcoming event tickets. all about stressing quality such as writing notes from a history lecture onto another page about a different lecture. or deciding that events from the loft belonged in the event ticket section of the binder and taking out the announcement cards. i also went through the empty chip bags and candy bar wrappers. hadn't done so since october. no surprise how the highest totals were lay's barbecue and reese's peanut butter. then they were all put in the trash once i wrote down the totals.

money monster movie

 this morning i watched a DVD movie, a recent purchase, 'money monster'. i recognized george clooney and julia roberts in it. this was about the host of a TV show about investing that is held hostage. there were some compelling parts of the storyline, the social commentary this thriller was making. i have seen some hostage movies before, but nothing like this one. after it was done i got started on errand running. there was two orders to pick up at the post office. then i dumped the recycle near the capitol. on to jersey mike's for a sandwich. then the light rail station where i rode the train to the loft's wordplay event in minneapolis. i had been to it before, but like many events it had been virtual for a few years due to the pandemic. i bought two books while there, one was about notable books of the 20th century. the other was 'glad my mom died', from last year by a former child star. i recall that one causing an uproar. i sat in on a few of the talks that authors gave. most of my time was spent in the outside parts, the streets that were blocked off by the police. once i had seen all of this part i went inside to open book, and some authors spoke about their books as well. while inside i had some iced latte coffee, as well as a vegan sandwich because all of the pastries were sold out. it was made by gallant tiger, crustless, blueberry bourbon sage  jam and peanut butter. then i rode the light rail home and got groceries at aldi. when i turned on the TV i noticed the Fox baseball game of the week had already started, but it was a scoreless tie. braves went on to beat the rays 6-1. later on i went on a walk and found 72 cents.

sourdough english muffins

 i made my weekly visit to hy-ee in eagan tonight and got more english muffins. this time it was the store brand and the sourdough kind. i do like getting private label or store brand as it tends to be cheaper. i had one after getting home, put it in the toaster like the earlier ones. i like how these were mostly pre-sliced. at work i got started earlier than typical on running checks through the machine since i still needed to get checks out. i knew the parts might not arrive and they didn't. i called the tech late in the day and was told it likely means they are arriving monday. it did help to start earlier as i had the time to take the sealed out of the pile and set them aside. i got a vanilla cone from dairy queen during my lunchtime. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 50 cents. so with the change from the dairy queen visit i have enough for the next festival button this summer. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when leonard was jealous of penny's classmate and laughs at alex hitting on him. it was followed by the one where sheldon is ashamed to work with bert while raj is dreaming about bernadette's colleague. the song 'almost paradise' is played for both fantasies. looks like another interview about performing is coming up sometime soon, i gave my avails.

mackinac island fudge

 i went to a festival after work and got a button then got some free ice cream. i chose the mackinac island fudge, the name intrigued me. it reminded me of a friend who had visited there, along with how foods are sometimes named after places such as waldorf salad. it was a long day at work as the machine wasn't running well but i knew i needed to get checks out anyway. a tech arrived in the morning but parts need to be ordered. actually i went to the ice cream social before i was completely done with work for the day but there wasn't much left to do when i got back. at midday i got a can of sparkling water from the same festival. and went to pay for the oil change on my car. in the evening i drank the can of revelation ale works 'resistance is futile' with my meal so now there are three beers waiting. the 'big bang theory' rerun was when bob newhart guest stars, it is when sheldon tells him wil wheaton is now professor proton. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 13 cents. 'young sheldon' was the episode aired the night i was performing in late march, when missy stole her dad's truck. a reminder of how i don't mind what i give up to go perform as the episode of a TV show is often later on as a rerun or i can find a brief recap on youtube.

fed-ex box of invoices

 i am used to picking up deliveries from the branch, but this time the item in the slot was a box from fed-ex. i opened it when i had the time and it was just invoices, the volume was more than typical. i think this is still related to buying out another bank and sending these from california. so i just forward them on internally, not much else i can do. i called for service on the envelope stuffer and no tech arrived but i did get a call. sounds like it will be sometime the next day, and i had to say it was sealing some envelopes but most were not. it was stopping the machine in the afternoon and i had noticed this tendency for a while. in the evening i went on a walk and found 26 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon played scrabble with steve hawking. penny had her friends write a history paper after saying she didn't want leonard to do it. and it was followed by the one where howard and amy are working late, it leads to bernadette conning sheldon into chores like in 'tom sawyer'.

meetup picnic, phalen park

 i stayed active on my day off for the holiday. the first of two events i attended was a meetup picnic at phalen park in st. paul. i once lived near there, but i haven't been there much in recent years. i was wearing my patriotic charlie brown shirt and when i sat down to eat i had somebody tell me they liked seeing it. then i was told there is a charlie brown and snoopy exhibit at the minnesota history center. i found it on my phone, it hasn't started yet but it will later this month and will run until june of next year. after i was done eating i went on a walk around the lake, part of it anyway. i liked finding a garden that was in honor of the sister city relationship with a chinese city. there was mention of sending some charlie brown statues to china. i read about it on the signs next to the replica of a pavilion sent from china. i also found a sculpture that was in honor of the centennial of the winter carnival. so it was nice getting back to the old neighborhood, even if only for a brief visit. then it was on to roseville for their holiday event, also in a park. i wanted a free button and had to wait a little for a city employee to find them at the office, but i got one. it will go well next to the other one i have from rose-fest, from six years ago. while waiting i walked around a little, checked my phone and deleted some apps, and got some ice cream. i liked how the ice cream truck had something inspired by the movie 'space jam'. it was tweety-themed, so i got one. there was a puppet show nearby as well, on the back of a truck. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 21 cents. the 'big bng theory' reruns were when howard got back from space, but his friends were too busy for him and bernadette was ill. some of them were in the middle of a pie eating contest. it was followed by the one where howard and sheldon are in the desert and howard's rocket exploded. penny bonds with leonard's mom, and leonard doesn't like it.

bus passes arrived

 i looked in the mail tub this morning and there was a rubber band around one item, it said 'postage due' and it appears to be the bus passes that a colleague was looking for. and was thinking i knew something about. she decided that the form rubber banded to it was an invoice so it means i am to forward it on. except that department is working from home this week so it will stay in the shop for now. most of the envelopes were not sealing well so it means calling for service again soon. it doesn't thrill me at all. i noticed i hadn't wheeled the bins full of emptied envelope and check stock boxes out to the hall, usually i do this on friday. i must have been in a rush to get out the door. so i did it at the end of the day. not much was added to it. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 79 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon got an assistant, alex. then amy said to penny 'that skank is your problem.' it was followed by the one where stuart and raj competed over bernadette's colleague. and sheldon convened 'the council of sheldons', his various personalities.

lion in winter movie

 this afternoon i went to the trylon cinema and saw the movie 'lion in winter'. i recognized katharine hepburn in it. this was part of a month of showing movies starring peter o'toole. it was about three sons in line to be king. when two of them were richard and john i knew this was the robin hood and magna carta era, actually just before it. john was portrayed as immature. after it was done it was on to perform at an open-mic. notable was the story about buying shoes. somebody who recognized me from mics at the same venue found me after the show, i did not know them at all but i think they are a newer comic. i liked getting some things crossed off my list earlier in the day. there was laundry around midday, finished in time to get to the movie. and before that was getting some things ordered online including a ticket to the next saints game i am attending and a hotel reservation for out of state. during my walks i found 68 cents.

french beach photo exhibit

 there were various places on my list to visit. one of them was the french alliance to see a photo exhibit from french beaches. it was officially called 'un week-end a la mer' by valerie jardin. it opened just over  a week ago and is on display for two more weeks, this was the best day for me to visit. i found it in the gallery on the upper level. i liked how i got in and out without saying a word to anyone. there was fourteen photos, from different years and different beaches. some of them did say normandy, reminding me of learning history from world war two. the one i liked most was called 'passion', a young couple sharing a kiss. there was another i liked showing somebody going off the high-dive. prior to my visit, i was at arby's in roseville having lunch and checking the driving directions to the place. other things i did in roseville were taking change to the spire credit union branch, and getting shoes at the JC penney. it was more of a chore than expected on the credit union visit due to the construction in the area, but i found a way to get there. after getting shoes i went to the dairy queen and had a cotton candy blizzard, the last of the five to try for this season. after the exhibit i went home and laid down for a little while, then it was to the aldi for my weekly grocery order. then it was time to get to the saints baseball game. i stopped at a speedway gas station on the way for my dinner, including an egg salad sandwich and a peanut butter cookie. saints were playing the braves team from suburban atlanta. saints built a big lead and then held on to win, 10-6. there was fireworks after the game. i chose another cheese sandwich from the food trucks after the game, but from a different place than memorial day, thus time from 'o cheese'. during my walks i found 62 cents.
