legendary selfie

went to perform tonight after getting an invite through a facebook page from photographer. mc called me legendary and i was in a selfie before the show. this was somebody who spoke a lot about visiting in-laws in iowa, and his wife being an architect. magic man was also there, but missed his set as i went to the bar area after my set and saw lunchlady. the notable songs of the day were 'don't dream it's over' by crowded house, on the way home from work. 'poker face' by lady gaga, at the show, this was done with me in mind. and 'time after time' by cyndi lauper, while driving home from the show. at work, more tax forms arrived. a file of checks i rarely see arrived late in the day and there was boxes around the digits. i sent it to our i.t. guy who changed the font. these were re-printed, but did not go out same-day. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard got his astronaut name, 'froot loops'. it was followed by the one where sheldon found out wil wheaton has a secret d and d game with william shatner and others. 

finally, a luncheon

 the department luncheon finally happened after being delayed multiple times. we went to a nearby town and i had a blackened chicken sandwich and steak fries. i walked around a little and noticed there was more art on the wall in the bar area, all sports-themed. one was of joe dimaggio, another of muhammad ali knocking out sonny liston. it was all right but hard to know what to talk about with people i barely know. i mainly listened to what the boss had to say about various subjects. we did talk shop a little, hard to avoid that one. but thankfully there were other subjects as well. when i got back i did my best to get caught up on things, but i knew it would be hard to get all of the fargo checks out. the first file, the smaller one, was printed before the luncheon and went out. the other was printed and will have to go out the next day. another thing was to let the courier know to leave the mail tubs in the mailroom as i was going to be offsite around midday. a team lead asked about travel plans, said i am not sure yet but i know a friend keeps telling me he'd like to see me visit the carolinas. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 cent. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when raj thinks he is dating his phone. it is followed by the one where leonard decides not to be a sperm donor for zac, while bernadette does a simulated space walk with raj and anu. 

a big ask

 i was just about to sign off for the day and there was an i.m. saying there was an emergency check print for rent payments, just over three hundred checks. i didn't feel like staying late to do them but there was pleas to do so. i let them know it takes time to print this many checks and run them through the machine, along with getting them to the courier as well. i got it done, just barely. courier was just about to leave with the two tubs i had put out and i said there was a third. it was a big ask to have this many checks arriving that late in the day to go out same-day. i spoke of it when i performed in the evening, but the bank story that got the best reaction was the one about checks being set aside for in-person pick-up. i spoke about exhausting things, and it was a set with higher energy than typical, but i was in the zone. i left it all out there and was exhausted at the end but i did real well, and this is the most important thing. later on i went on a walk and found 51 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when leonard and penny get back together and try to hide it from their friends, while amy talks about double date partners. it was followed by the one where sheldon helps howard and bernadette at the 'zone zone'. 

cranky at laundromat

 i liked how there wasn't much for me to do for the day, only two items on my list was to do laundry and watch football games. when the laundry was done i had it in a cart and was getting ready to fold it at the nearest table, then someone said 'excuse me' and i moved. i was cranky about it, then it looked like the dude still wanted to talk to me but i shut that down by saying that i moved. i got my wish, although i heard a sigh. i went to the opposite end of the table and folded the laundry into my basket and i left. i like it when i can get things done with little or no talk so i didn't want to keep talking about it when it was a moot point to me. when i got home i heated up a little pizza in the oven and less than an hour later the first football game of the day started, chiefs-ravens. chiefs won a close one, aided by ravens turnovers, two of them were in the endzone. i knew i was tired by halftime, and i managed to last until the end of the game by watching it in my chair and then laid down. i did not see any of the second game, lions-49ers, won by the 49ers. when i woke up i knew it was late enough that the game was over. so i finished up the bread i got on friday from hy-vee. i had some popcorn during the first game of the day. then i did the dishes during the news. later on i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 24 cents. 

anatomy of a fall movie

this evening i went to a movie in burnsville, 'anatomy of a fall'. this is a french movie that was nominated for oscars. actually some of the dialogue was in english. it was about a murder trial, two writers living at a chalet in grenoble with their vision impaired 11-year-old son. the wife is accused of murdering her husband. even though the movie was two and a half hours, it held my attention throughout. still amazed to see what american things end up in french movies. there was the 50 cent song 'pimp', and during the courtroom scenes there was a reference to stephen king, the writer of horror novels. i ate at an arby's near the mall and imax theater just before the movie. 

  this was an eventful day, starting off with getting an advance ticket to a lecture at a museum. and i went to the post office, one order picked up. when i greeted the loopy postal employee his response was calling me 'cowboy'. i printed a gift certificate at fed-ex office, then picked up some things at a walgreen. i took some things home and went to get a meatball sub sandwich at a holiday gas station, with hash browns of course. then it was on to the st. paul winter carnival, although there was just five ice sculptures on display or still being worked on. later on i went to get some clothing at a macy's, then groceries at aldi. shortly after that it was on to burnsville for the movie. there was greco-roman statues inside the theater, i don't see that too often. unsure if i had been to this theater before. during my walks i found 1 dollar 2 cents. 

test forms fit

 i ran the test forms, tax forms for colorado, through the machine after running the fargo checks. there was five, but one was already in an envelope. but all of them fit the address through the window fine. late in the afternoon i was given the five hundred colorado forms, and i will do them on monday. i said i have enough envelopes at this time, but not enough for the expected california volume. then i was informed that envelopes have been ordered, should arrive next week. there was a dial-in meeting with a business line just before midday but i had a little trouble getting logged in, the link didn't work. so i had to back-door it with a user-id and password that was given in the invite. in the evening i went to hy-vee in eagan for groceries, used up the small remaining balance on a gift card. liked hearing some of the music being played there, including 'all for you' by sister hazel, a song that reminds me of moving to suburban chicago as it was a hit during my earliest days of living there. later on i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 11 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon got a tiara for amy, laughed a lot at this one. especially when amy said to penny, 'i'm disappointed in you but we both know that isn't going to last'. it was followed by the one where sheldon and amy meet the two scientists from chicago's fermi-lab that are trying to steal their idea and nobel prize. 

starbucks cinnamon roll

 there were goodies when i dropped off refund checks and invoices for customer service. there was cinnamon rolls, and ocean spray cranberry juice. the cups said starbucks, unsure if the rolls were from there. i heated up the roll for a half minute and the frosting melted quick, so that was long enough. it was good. late in the day when i was finishing up the overnight labels i got the sample forms from payroll so i can test them in terms of running them through the machine. i drank the can of modelo with the evening meal so there are four beers waiting. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 57 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when zac asked leonard to be a sperm donor. 

damaged checks overnighted

at work, vacation replacement sent an i.m. and a screen snip saying to overnight ten of the damaged checks from last week, 'return to business line', to cincinnati. we were informed that the two from our own business line will be re-issued, so it leaves just two business lines, out of six, to be determined. in the morning my boss made it to the shop with his laptop and had questions about the tax checks from the ad-hoc file. i said they were put in the lockbox in the morning, will be picked up by the courier at midday. i have heard it before from the tax specialist, how it is hard to find a courier in the afternoon, so i am told to hold them until the next morning. when i got home i tried to order an event ticket but there was some extra verification being asked for, so i think i will try to order the tickets this weekend in person at the venue. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 15 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when amy and stuart went on a date, prompting sheldon to draw up a new relationship agreement. it was followed by the one where amy does the interviews alone about the theory she and sheldon have. there was a paintball game as well, where raj and anu kept arguing because raj didn't trust her. 

hard eight movie

 tonight i went to see the movie 'hard eight' at the trylon cinema in minneapolis. i recognized john reilly, sam jackson, and gwyneth paltrow in it. this was the debut for paul thomas anderson as director. it was filmed entirely on location in reno, nevada. the character i liked the most was sydney, the mentor to john's character. i found phil hoffman to be annoying, who was shooting craps and kept calling sydney an 'old-timer'. shortly after i got home from the movie i ordered another ticket for a screening at trylon, for next month. it was a long day at work so i did not go home until after the movie. i ate at burger king and had a little hershey chocolate pie with it. vacation replacement dropped in and helped out for much of the day, and it was nice that he took care of the damaged checks. the boss said to notify the business lines about them, there was six lines in all. some said shred them, others want them returned to them. there was a high volume for the fargo checks, and near the end of the second fargo file it stopped printing and gave us an error page. this time i notified i.t. right away. but since other business lines needed to be printed, i did not take the time to print those last six hundred. we still sent four tubs of checks out in spite of this. during my walks i found 2 cents. 

little toblerone candies

when i went to perform tonight i noticed some little toblerone candies on the counter in the back. i don't see those too often so i had two of them. i went on near the end of the night. there were some late arrivals in the lineup. i did bank stories, a linkedin story, and a meetup event. not too much out of the ordinary at work. vacation replacement dropped in and helped out a little. this tends to happen on the days when the boss is working from home. low volume, under 20 for overnight labels, was nice. i did not get around to moving the PDF check icons from the previous business day, but i need to do this soon. i did some research on event tickets of interest to me. it is likely that of those i researched, i will do just the green day concert. the college basketball tournaments and olympic trials for gymnastics don't interest me as much, especially when looking at ticket prices. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 89 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when amy was sad that she was left out of dress shopping, then gets drunk in a liquor store parking lot. this one i like more than most. she becomes the maid of honor for bernadette. it was followed by the one where a russian paper apparently disproves sheldon and amy's theory. 

charlie brown vignettes

 in the morning i watched a VHS tape, a recent purchase from e-bay. it was 'it's an adventure', another charlie brown special, it was plenty of vignettes. i recognized one of them from the comic strips, it was the one where charlie brown coaches a team called 'the goose eggs'. it was when he ran away after biting a tree. i also liked the one where snoopy decides to fly like a helicopter to find the security blanket for linus. there is one, maybe two more, of these specials that i would be fine with having on VHS. for lunch i cut up half a can of spam and mixed it into some stouffer's macaroni and cheese. the other half will be for the second pan of mac and cheese. just before midday i started watching a women's basketball game on NBC, iowa at ohio state. iowa lost in overtime, 100-92. caitlin clark is fourth on the all-time scoring list, and i am aware of this is why attendance is up in this sport. this was the first iowa women's game i had seen this season, and i had watched the title game vs. LSU a year ago. looks like some more games are on TV this season, according to the schedule i found three more, all on Fox. i watched some of the NFL playoff games of the day, the lions and chiefs won. after the second game i called my dad. it lasted until the news started, about an hour later. during my walks i found 1 dollar 16 cents. 

unbearable weight, massive talent, movie

 this morning i watched a DVD movie, a redbox rental, 'unbearable weight of massive talent'. it stars nicolas cage as a fictionalized version of himself. there are even scenes where he talks to a younger version of himself, credited as his real name, nicolas coppola. it was a weird movie to say the least, but somehow it worked. must have been some of the social commentary in it, such as what kind of movie sells. it helps that there are clips from some of his earlier movies, including 'con air', which i liked, and my dad no doubt likes it, but largely due to john malkovich being on that one. i read the closing credits and noticed it was filmed in hungary, and croatia. guess there even was a cameo by demi moore, and i recognized neil patrick harris in it, who plays his agent. once the movie was done it was time to do errand running. i went to the post office and picked up one order. then i dumped the movie at the gas station, also got some hash browns, which were eaten right away. and i got a little godfather's pizza for later on. i dumped the recycle at the capitol, then printed an event ticket at fedex office. then i dropped off some things at home and then went to have a sandwich at jersey mike's. later on i watched some of the NFL playoff games of the day, the ravens and 49ers won. i went for groceries at aldi after i had the evening meal, and before i turned on the second game. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 3 dollars 60 cents. 

gambit brewing, meetup

 in the evening i went to a meetup event at gambit brewing in downtown st. paul. it is across the street from a building i once worked in. i paid for a little over an hour on parking, and that was long enough. i chatted with a few people, one of them was from iowa like me, ottumwa. i had a beer and a cookie, tavern style, from mei mei's cookies in river falls, wisconsin. it helped that the cookies were right next to one was to order beer. then it was on to the holiday station, where i got a redbox movie and the paper. after that it was on to hy-vee in eagan, ten items bought. first time in weeks where i needed to get cereal, got a box of valentine themed cheerios. at work it was a low-volume day on check printing and overnight labels, but i didn't mind as i got out earlier than typical, close to my normal leave time. one check from i-pay was set aside and will be picked up next week. looks like the remittance notifications were finally diverted to the deleted items section, hopefully it stays that way. but it is hard to tell as some still trickled in during the day, but the bulk of them that were waiting for me in the morning were diverted. during my walks i found 1 cent. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon's mom visits and she takes care of sheldon when he gets sick, caught in the rain. it was followed by the one where sheldon tries to bond with amy's parents. 

wet checks

 there was some irregular mail that arrived, package was addressed to my boss. sent a scan and was told to process like all others. it was wet checks that had been returned by energy park, more than 40. they not only looked wet but also smelled wet. the boss wants to look at them next week before we do anything with them. the delivery table is clear, but the branch manager had nothing to do with it. hopefully the issue has been corrected on home-based employees ordering and our address being the default. the newer envelope stuffing machine, when it jams, not only tears the envelope but also the check, leading to me having to re-print some checks. doesn't thrill me but not much can be done about it. drank the can of ursa minor with the evening meal and got a bottle of modelo from the liquor store near me so there still are five beers waiting. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 61 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when brent spiner was a guesat star, and bernadette tells howard's mom how he wants to go to space. it was followed by the one where the ladies have fun in the playhouse at howard and bernadette's place. while leonard gave himself a laser because he wanted it. 

already in the box

 near the end of the day was an i.m. asking about a check. i found out it was one i had just sent to the UPS box. it was in response to seeing the tracking numbers and i was told the payees were not correct. i was unable to help them as i didn't hear about it in time. then i saw their email response. i see requests to intercept a check all the time but this sure was a weird one. especially when it was from somebody that i had never heard of. the same two names were on both, but i guess it was meant to be one name each. that is beyond my control in terms of who did this. vacation replacement asked about the check printer, and sounded disappointed when the tech from HP did little more than give us a new maintenance kit. guess he was expecting to have the machine looked at more extensively, wondering if the rollers were causing the check smearing issue. i said both tickets had already been closed. still seeing some PDF checks listed as 'overnight' but some have PO box addresses, and we are unable to overnight to one. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 1 cent. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when raj met deaf emily and howard was the sign language interpreter. it was followed by the one where howard imitates sheldon on halloween, then sheldon and amy imitate howard and bernadette in response to it. 

moving icons

 back at work after the holiday, i needed to move icons to a shared folder. these are the PDF files that have the checks replacing the 300 and i-pay files. there was 51 icons to move from my email, dating back to the first of the month. it included two that arrived this morning. the boss sent home most employees in the department, saying there was a heating issue in the building. i stayed as it was comfortable in the shop. and it means the luncheon has been moved back, another week. the branch manager informed me why there was a flood of boxes for home-based employees, saying our address was defaulting when ordering. i did two UPS ground labels for the customer service boss, going to new employees in arizona. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 75 cents. the 'big bang theory' rerun was when sheldon pulled amy off her project, and bob newhart was a guest star. and bob finally got to eat at a deli. 

hi-chew candies

 i went to perform tonight and as usual the show runner brought candies, i had some of the hi-chew, three kinds- green apple, grape, mango. it says on the wrapper it is immensely fruity, intensely chewy candy. i did stories about the movies i had seen, being out in the weather, the bank, and going to walgreen. i was on near the end of the night. i found things to do on my day off for the holiday. there was taking out the trash and deciding i wanted to make it count so i got two plastic bags of shredded junk mail in as well. i watched some of the pro football playoff games on TV, the bills and bucs won. there was more charlie brown specials i watched on DVD, it was 'happy new year' and 'want a dog for christmas'. and i got some small but important things done, such as ordering an event ticket for next week. during my walks i found 75 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when penny got a chair and sheldon wanted her to get rid of it. this was when penny started off three door greetings with 'what's up buttercup?' it was followed by the one where we meet tam, sheldon's friend from texas. while penny and bernadette decide to check out anu, raj's lady friend. 

big stuffed dog, snoopy special

 this morning i watched a VHS tape, a recent purchase from e-bay, 'big stuffed dog'. i hadn't heard about this live-action charlie brown special for a while because it wasn't animated, so not on the wikipedia list with the others. i recognized gordon jump in it, and abe vigoda. no surprise when the girl won it at a carnival, it is a better story because she won it. this was about a boy who wanted to take a big plush snoopy with him on a visit with his grandparents, but it is lost at the airport. then it changes hands multiple times. i watched another VHS tape in the afternoon, 'mrs. parker and the vicious circle'. i actually have another VHS tape related to it, the other is a 'making of' tape. after watching it i ordered the DVD version from amazon. then i ordered another charlie brown special on VHS from e-bay. i watched some of the pro football games as well, the packers and lions won. there are two more the next day as the one in buffalo was moved back one day. 

fallen leaves movie

 this afternoon i went to see the movie 'fallen leaves', at st. anthony main in minneapolis. i had seen film festivals there before. this movie is from finland, and i chose it because i knew a karaoke bar plays an important role in the story. it was where the couple met, and i like doing karaoke. i looked up a song in it, 'get on' by the hurriganes. it was in english but the band is from finland, popular in the 1970s. i laughed a few times, and this movie captured 'the struggle of life' well. even the stray dog that was adopted by the main character was a good part of the story. i liked this movie, it has already received some award nominations and hopefully the next one is an oscar nomination. i was not alone on braving the weather to go see it, as there was a decent sized crowd there. it was likely due to being the only theater in the area that is showing it, and it appeared to be slated for just one week in theaters. before i went to the movie i went to the grocery store, aldi, and the post office. there was one order to pick up. then i went to the holiday gas station and got a hot meatball sub sandwich and some hash browns for lunch. i went home after the movie and i am fine with staying in for most of the rest of the weekend due to the cold weather. i had crossed everything off of my list by then. during my walks i found 35 cents. 

special handling notes

 at work there was multiple dial-in meetings about special handling of the check files that have migrated to another system. in the afternoon it was with somebody from atlanta. i stated that i have been checking each one for notes, be it to send overnight or inter-office, since relying on the notes in the body of the email i am printing them from does not catch all of them. when there was mention of tax checks i found out it likely had nothing to do with the checks for our tax specialist that are put in the lockbox for courier pick-up. speaking of which, in the morning i sent out the second envelope of those tax checks of the new year and the courier picked up both envelopes around midday. a third file arrived in the afternoon. most of them from the first file were for places in alaska. three meetings about the same subject left me a little behind on my work, as expected. but the overnight volume was half as much, compared to the previous day so i still got out a little earlier. during my walks i found 1 cent. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when penny did her hemorrhoid commercial. it was followed by the one where penny rents the bat-mobile for leonard for the day. i did not go to hy-vee due to the weather, as it is cold and snowy. i went to target, and walgreen, instead for most of what i normally get. there was another friday i did not go to hy-vee, due to traffic on the interstate caused by a car wreck. being an adult means accepting that sometimes one must line up alternate plans. 

little bites muffins

 at work i found some little bites muffins, made by entenmanns, and had some as a mid-morning snack. i claimed three little bags or pouches, chocolate chip, they tasted good. i stayed late at work to get the overnight packages caught up. there was a much higher volume than usual for account closures from kansas city. i did more than fifty across all business lines for the day. in the evening i went to the nearby gas station and got a bag of old dutch potato chips after i had eaten. then i went to the liquor store and got a can of surly. i drank the can of heineken with the evening meal so now there still are five beers waiting. the 'big bang theory' rerun was when sheldon and amy go on a scavenger hunt after getting a wedding gift that had been re-gifted. during my walks i found 1 cent. 

calling internet provider

i finally called my internet provider, and that worked on getting back online. updates still happening on the newer computer, but at least i am able to check email and do other typical things. found out i still need a modem although it is now a wireless hookup. this call was during the first of two supply deliveries. sometimes this happens, where both are on the same day, not even an hour apart. first the envelopes, then the check stock. for lunch it looked weird on the soup, plenty of carrots. then i reminded myself i chose pot roast from campbell chunky's lineup as i didn't see any steak and potato on the shelf at aldi. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 27 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard's mom is in the hospital. this is my favorite episode as bernadette said 'me?' it was followed by the one where sheldon and amy are on honeymoon in new york city while amy's dad is in hiding from her mom.  

senior leader and donuts

a senior leader that i have met only once, at a twins game, was in the office for the day and he brought donuts. found this out when i was bringing up mail for customer service. a colleague told me and then said 'watch what you say' and i gave a bewildered look because i didn't think the joke was funny. i had one donut and joined his meeting remotely in the early afternoon. i was trying to stay caught up on work. he gave an award to another senior leader that i see a little more often, but not too often. it was a high volume day on check printing so this seemed like the best game plan. the boss was ill so a luncheon scheduled for the day was moved back a week. during my walks i found 2 dollars 75 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when bernadette didn't like lying for penny about her life- dating an astronaut- just to impress leonard and priya. it was followed by the one where sheldon and amy got married. i like this one because penny stands up to amy's mom and tells her to 'park it'.  

make-up check file

 at work there was a file of checks from last week that was un-printable. the i.t. man was able to work his magic and it was ready in the afternoon. i only see it weekly, so i printed two files for that business line. the make-up file did not go out same-day as i need time to take out the checks with the overflow pages. the new computer is still being slow on updates. i took it to best buy and was told it was nothing out of the ordinary. i went to perform later in the evening and did stories about how i spent christmas, and new year's day. and of course some bank stories. i did well except i got stuck near the end of my set and looked at notes to remind myself to do karaoke stories. during my walks i found 10 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when amy kissed sheldon and then threw up because she was drunk after a night of dancing. it was followed by the one where sheldon and leonard go to texas to invite dr. tire, the brother, george, to sheldon and amy's wedding. 

snoopy the musical

 it was another VHS day, three shows watched. one of them was a recent purchase, 'snoopy the musical'. it was familiar in terms of themes used from other charlie brown specials. and no surprise how it is near the end once snoopy puts on the top hat. also watched another charlie brown special, the one about the super bowl. i brought it back from my trip to san francisco many years ago. and i watched one about baseball in the 1980s from the sporting news. i picked up a can of founders from hy-vee so now there are five beers waiting. i watched some of the bears-packers game, bears lost 17-9. and i listened to a CD, another recent purchase, by luke combs. the cover of 'fast car' is why i wanted it, but there are some other good songs on it. during my walks i found 2 dollars 50 cents. 

mile 22 movie

 this morning i watched a DVD movie, a redbox rental, 'mile 22'. i recognized mark wahlberg in it, who i still think of as marky mark. this was a spy thriller movie, closing credits said much of it was filmed in colombia. wahlberg was overbearing, but still funny in spite of it by the way he spoke with colleagues to get what he wanted. it started off in a u.s. embassy, but the movie title is due to trying to get someone onto a plane. so the 'thrill of the chase' was on the streets, even having to swap cars along the way as there were many that were trying to stop them. once it was done i wanted to get to the credit union to dump change into my savings account, something i do quarterly. it was over 13 dollars. i priced some laptops at the nearby best buy as well. then it was on to the post office, two orders picked up. then on to jersey mike's for a sandwich as it was midday by then. i rested a little at home, and did some research, then went back to best buy to get the laptop i wanted. one thing though, the hookup for the modem is not compatible, so it means taking some time to figure out the wi-fi. in the evening i went to aldi for groceries, and later on it was to the karaoke bar. i did two songs, 'break my stride' by matt wilder, and 'dyer maker' by led zeppelin. i saw somebody try to do 'hard to be humble' but left mid-song. another sang with her back turned to the crowd, like she was singing in the shower, she did a carrie underwood tune. during my walks i found 38 cents.

 i like those emergency pizza commercials from domino's. this was a day where it was personal for me. i was busy getting caught up on re-printing checks that had smeared two days prior, well over a thousand, coupled with all of my normal duties. tech arrived in the morning wanting to see if there was more questions about using the unit. it was the first day i was using it, and i like how it is faster. i didn't have time to heat up the soup i brought and noticed some left-over pizza on another floor, so i heated it up. i think things will be getting better soon as the backlog is lower now. tech arrived to deliver a maintenance kit for the check printer as well. in the evening i went to hy-vee in eagan, eight items bought. later on i went on a walk and found 1 cent. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon and amy tested rumors in their circle of friends. it was followed by the one where amy picks out a wedding dress and sheldon tries to win a lot of money in las vegas.

inundated with emails

 this morning we were inundated with emails again in the shared box. this time it was 1400. to me it was a big deal when we saw 400-500 the previous day. and no word yet on when these notifications will be turned off. the newer machine was up and running around midday, the boss still needed to sign a form. most of the check backlog was eliminated as this machine is twice as fast. in the evening i went to get a can of wabasha at the nearby liquor store, and drank the bottle of modelo with my meal. so there still are four beers waiting. later on i went on a walk and found 41 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when penny kicked a dude in the groin for her friends. it was followed by the one where denise was hired by stuart to work at the comic book store.

machine arrived, assembled

 techs arrived early in the morning, and the shipment arrived about an hour later. for most of the day the machine was being assembled on another floor, and having to open larger doors that we rarely open. at the end of the day we were told some more time was needed to get the machine ready, about two more hours the next day. it arrived in four boxes, all on pallets. at one point i was asked to help with lifting part of it onto a cabinet. my boss was not pleased about how the part for the older machine did not arrive, as it meant we are still behind on getting checks out. there was an issue with the maintenance kit on the check printer as well, so a ticket was opened. it was a long day for me. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 73 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon tried to put bar codes on cards to outsmart howard on a card trick. it was followed by the one where the dudes go meet a scientist in the woods, while the ladies go to a bar for amy's bachelorette party and amy gets drunk and passes out fairly quickly.

wire transfers, shared box

 back at work and we were inundated with emails about wire transfers- in the shared box. a senior leader asked to see some of them and they were meant for another department. i would be fine with these notifications being turned off. part did not arrive for the machine so it meant more manual stuffing of envelopes. i used up the ones that were in a box near the machine, those had been taken out when jams happened. my vacation replacement was in the shop for most of the day helping out, stating there was nothing to do in his main role. and i saw how the checks being sent as a PDF don't fit the window of the envelope. i sent a scan of it to the team. in the evening i went on a walk and found 77 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon tried to have his own party but left because they were having fun wrong, so he went to see his real friends at raj and priya's. it was followed by the one where raj and howard found a drone while in the hot-tub, then track down the owner. i checked fandango for upcoming movies of interest and printed three of them. now it is a question of how many i see in theaters and how many as a redbox rental.

millionaire bacon burger

 went to a gathering of comics at a place in eagan around midday. i ordered a millionaire bacon burger, it was sweeter bacon than typical. did not order dessert after seeing another comic having a big cookie in a pan, that would have been too much for me. i had some ice ream and reese's peanut butter when i got home. as usual i said hi to the event coordinator first, the resistable comic, who i did a fringe show with. later on i said she is why i am still involved with fringe, ushering as i want to get in free to shows. and i like seeing lunchlady, who spoke of working in radio in the san francisco area many years ago. i was getting annoyed with somebody who was giving unsolicited advice, the cardinal sin, so i changed my seat. watched some of the citrus bowl when i got home, iowa vs. tennessee, iowa was already trailing 21-0 by then and lost 35-0. the baseball cards from last week were put into binders, separated by team of course. nice seeing the rock hall induction show on ABC in the evening, especially sheryl crow and willie nelson. also liked hearing 'rumble' by link wray, an instrumental tune, as this artist was inducted as an influencer. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when priya is in town and leonard goes to see her, while howard is told to choose between his mom and bernadette. it was followed by the one where bill gates is a guest star. later on i went on a walk and found 18 cents.
