I progressed further on the magazine sorting, resuming for the first time since late December. There was a fairly small stack of Sporting News editions I hadn't looked at yet, ranging from 2000-2009. So of course looking at the address label it really had been a while on some, seeing the suburban Chicago address. I got them tied up in 2 bundles, and hope to reduce it even more at some point. There was also the Centennial issue from 1986, which is showing its age. Also put some outdated income tax guides in the bag for recycle with the discarded magazines, and took out the forms that had any personal information like my checking account number.
I read a TSN article from 2002 in these editions, about the baseball labor dispute which was averted at the last minute. There were predictions in it, but there were off a little. One was the Montreal Expos would move to the D.C. area, and they did, but in 2005, a year later than predicted. The other was about the second rumored club for contraction, the Minnesota Twins, how it gave them more time to get a new stadium, also not within the timeframe predicted. Same was true about the Pohlads selling the club, didn't happen. The 'cleanup' was done after watching 'Big Bang Theory', good episode about Sheldon having to take a vacation. I thought about how it wouldn't take long, and it didn't, little over an hour. Even had enough time to call my college roomate, for the first time in about a month.
