5 Scheduled, 4 No-Shows

     I had my contest night at the comedy club, and I won, albeit by default. Five contestants were scheduled, and four were no-shows. I still did the jokes I had planned on doing as it would be nice to advance to the semifinals at the end of August. I did do a joke about no competition as I referred to entering a pumpkin decorating contest when I was working in suburban Chicago. I took 3rd, but there was just 4 entries. My prize was 2 beer cozies and a pair of sunglasses. My date made it to the show but nobody else did, despite sending out a Facebook invite. I did know the MC from attending shows before, a skinny guy who has done a joke about killing a rat with a brick.
   It was nice to speak with the co-headliners before the show. The bearded guy is interested in history like I am, which I liked. He is from North Jersey and a New York Giants fan, was wearing a Giants hat. The other was a girl from Brooklyn. He did good jokes about lady friends judging what porn a guy watches along with one about people wearing costumes while watching 'Apollo 13'. The Brooklyn girl did jokes about sponsoring a kid in Bolivia and about her roommates, along with what food she ate while in Japan.
   At work I went to a panelist discussion with some senior leaders from other offices, and one of them was a good interview. This event was postponed from the previous day due to the weather.
