saw a movie on loan from the library, 'broken flowers', starring bill murray. a road movie and I like these kinds of stories. although this wasn't the typical road movie. he was on the road by himself. and in some ways, he didn't find what he was looking for. I liked how he played the straight man to his neighbor, who was trying to help him solve the mystery of who sent a pink letter to Murray's character. her visited four women from his past, five if you count the one that died, where he left flowers at the cemetery where she is buried. I watched the bonus features as well, one of the segments showed the filming of it with all of the 'action' calls. this movie was from 2005, I said it already looked a little dated as one can see a northwest airlines plane when he is at the airport. of course that airline is no more, swallowed up by delta in 2009. a few days earlier I had seen 'lovelace', about a porn star from the 1970s who eventually shared her story on the Phil Donahue show. I returned both movies to the library once I had finished watching 'broken flowers'.
I also made it to the performance venue, in the evening. I did ones about finding more ideas for karaoke, the phone book is still there, and getting a fed-ex envelope about benefits. I went to a state employment office, but the only help offered was applying for benefits and not jobs. I was asked to come back with more information, also completed forms.
