this week I was noticing the two 'have a nice day' balloons at the front desk at work. the lady there said she didn't know who brought them. of course these would be the yellow smiley faces. I asked a resource line rep if he had seen them, and he said it wasn't his idea but he liked seeing them. just before midday I was called into a meeting, and I found out it was my last day. so it meant having to say goodbye to those I enjoyed seeing there. I had a subway sandwich and went to walgreen and cub foods, as well as the library. then it was to a shop near a karaoke venue, and the shop was open so I bought a greeting card there that spoke about passion. also near there was the trumpet player. we spoke for a short time, and as I was on my way back to my car i noticed he was playing the 'sesame street' theme song. after having dinner and watching some reruns, i ventured out to sing karaoke, after the 10pm news of course. I sang 'lean on me' by club nouveau. it seemed like a good one to do after what I had witnessed today. and I noticed some of the crowd members were really enjoying it, doing big over-the-head claps. naturally I am trying to figure out the logistics of the weekend. although the main thing is figuring out when to set aside time for writing in a contest sponsored by the university i attended. when it is super bowl weekend it is harder to do, but i will find a way.
