i watched a DVD movie in the afternoon, a redbox rental, 'those who wish me dead'. i recognized angelina jolie in it. this is a thriller, involving forest fires. and assassins. at first i didn't understand them depicting a forest fire and then somebody wakes up in another state, but eventually they show the connection between the two. memorable will be the scene where people go into a creek to survive the fire. it held my attention throughout. it is decidedly different from, say, 'always', which was more about fighting the forest fires and this was more about surviving one. it was my first redbox rental after a month off. i was out of town on some weekends, and for others i wanted to get caught up on watching movies i had purchased. i am thankful this wasn't the only thing i had planned for the labor day holiday. but we all know i can't stay idle for long, just how i am wired. i went to cheapo records and turned in 8 CDs. not much was given for them, 3 dollars taken off of my bill, but at least i got something from them. i bought 3 CDs while there, and 2 postcards. the discs were sia's 'music' movie soundtrack, 'zeitgeist' by smashing pumpkins, and my chemical romance's 'black parade'. i was going to get four discs, but when one of them was rung up i noticed the price on it and said 'not that one'. putting back one of them cut the total in half. i picked up a burger and some vitamin water at walgreen for lunch on my way home.
there were some other discs i wanted to get while at cheapo, but couldn't find them-or figured i could find a cheaper copy somewhere else- so it meant going online and ordering them from amazon. three discs were ordered there, two by linkin park and the third was a greatest hits disc from fallout boy. this should help with getting more primed for the drag brunch, provided that all of them arrive before then and it is more than 2 weeks away. i did listen to 'black parade' this evening already. after returning the movie and sending more recycle to the capitol grounds, i went on a meetup walk at ft. snelling park. i liked talking with one lady there at first, but then i was reminded of how annoyed i was getting with an older dude from the memorial day walk who wanted to talk about the vietnam war. that's a history book item, it was a long time ago. during my walks i found 16 cents. for the evening meal i drank the can of budweiser with it so now there are 3 beers waiting.
