this morning i watched a DVD movie, a redbox rental, 'survive the game'. i recognized bruce willis in it. when i searched it on wikipedia it was re-directed from 'killing field'. it was about 2 cops trying to take down drug lords. not everything made sense though. for one thing, bruce's character is shot early on and one is led to believe that he died, but he didn't. then there is a car chase and it ends up at a farm, and the resident of the farm is forced into the fray. there is back-story about the farmer recently losing his wife and daughter in a car wreck, apparently caused by him being a distracted driver. the car chases are good in it, but the movie wasn't that great. the drug lord's henchmen were inept, to say the least, and there was some bickering between two of them because one is american and the other is british. picking off one of them at a time reminded me of the second 'crocodile dundee'.
after i dumped the movie at the gas station i went on to cane's chicken in eagan and decided to use the drive-through line, it moved quick. previously i had refused to use it, but it looks like they are drive-through only for a while. at least they were open, there is a taco place near me that has been closed on sundays for a while. i got another charlie brown souvenir, the plastic bag the order came in. much like my earlier visit, it tasted good. three chicken fingers, crinkle cut fries, texas toast. i got pictures of the small cardboard cutouts of the characters planted in the ground, including linus holding up a sign saying 'welcome great pumpkin'. i went home and ate there, watched the bears game, they were leading for a while but lost to the 49ers. i laid down for a while after the game ended, then needed to get up and do laundry. when that was done it was time for the evening meal, had some pizza. then it was time for the world series, game 5. braves led early on the strength of a grand slam, but lost to the astros 9-5. during my walks i found 1 dollar 58 cents. so now i have enough for chips from the vending machine at work and soon will have enough for beer from the liquor store near work.
