i was asked to move up submitting the monthly supply order as that colleague would be out of the office all of next week. i sent it early in the day, then late in the afternoon i find out there is an add that needs to be done. the foundation sent 3,000 checks, as it is the end of the quarter, so i asked for some check stock and envelopes to be added as they have their own envelopes. it also meant not all of the checks would go out same-day, as the vast majority of them were approved to print after 2 pm. some of them were not printed yet, but still loaded into the system, as i wanted a printer left free for other check files. i notified right away about what was realistic. my vacation replacement asked by I.M. what one of them was, saying he hadn't seen it before. it was one of three from foundation. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when penny ruins valentines day by being jealous. raj has a singles party and then says 'later losers' when he gets a date. it was followed by the one where raj gets sheldon as his money manager, then is told he must find a second job to make the money to go to comic-con. i drank the can of hamm's with the evening meal so now 2 beers are waiting. during my walks i found 1 dollar 20 cents.

sending tax checks directly
there was a request in the afternoon to pull 2 checks out of a file that is normally sent to oshkosh and to send them directly to colorado. i was fine with it because they sent me the forms needed to go with them and the UPS label was created for me as well. i looked at the forms and understood they were different due to different property addresses. it was a 10-page attachment, but the response was to send only the first page, that looks like a billing statement. so i adjusted when finding this out as i hadn't seen the envelope yet or sent it to the drop box yet. i saw my vacation replacement near the end of the day, who asked about the car. i liked getting caught up on things, it helped that i did most of the pending items first before getting to new business. in the evening i went on a walk and found 14 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when raj was stuck over at howard's mom's place. leonard and penny, sheldon and amy, were hashing out living arrangements but weren't being honest. amy said 'here i am' to sheldon about being his perfect roommate. it was followed by the one where sheldon learns about the gossip related to his sex life with amy from bert. raj tells his dad he will no longer live off his money and it was stated that there is sheldon's old room available for him.

promoted from wait list
in the evening i went on a meetup walk as i was promoted from the wait list. except there was no notice that i was, had to check the original event posting myself. it took a little while, but i found the group about when i was turning around to go home. the hiking was in a park near the mississippi river. i liked chatting with the event coordinator. later on it was with an older man, but i found him to be annoying, talking too much about the way things were. we just weren't on the same page about the subjects being discussed. at work i decided to return a check to the business line, as i had been waiting for an answer for a while and it didn't arrive. there was no street address so didn't want to send it out, let alone through UPS. a few things were left over at the end of the day, but i can likely get them done quickly in the morning. one of those was check copies, requests that arrived late in the day. during my walks i found 79 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when kripke kept asking sheldon about his sex life with amy, while raj and howard had a 3-d printer. it was followed by the one where sheldon said 'nice try, blockhead' when the friends needed him to re-join a government project. amy was willing to speed to get him to a train engineer retreat as she was turned on.
was/wasn't picked up
at the end of my lunchtime i went over to the place where i sold my car and picked up the check. then near the end of the day i went to the branch and deposited the check. there was two emails asking for tracking numbers, it looks like the checks i had overnighted on friday weren't picked up yet as i looked at history and it just said 'label created'. i will check these numbers again in the morning to see if anything changes. i got most of the incoming mail scanned, there was a backlog from returning on friday. it was mostly refund checks. what made it easier was to do a little at a time throughout the day. a manager picked up an envelope and said it was a badge for the intern that just started. and the maintenance kit installation was done in the morning as well. checking my email in the evening, i saw two events of interest from meetup. i had to pass on one as i found out it was more than 30 miles away. much like last year, i can find a closer and cheaper water park. the other was a walking outing, but i was wait-listed. later on i went on a walk and found 26 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when the friends took pictures in star trek outfits and had their car stolen. and their ladies argue about comic books. it was followed by the one where raj met his exes again, and sheldon got a truth machine which was more than he bargained for.

lions club
in the morning i went to kaposia days in south st. paul. there was a pancake breakfast at the car dealer and i got the festival button there. some of those also there was the court from the st. paul winter carnival, as well as a costumed performer from the lions club. i was not too familiar with that organization, but i had seen their emblem in many places. wikipedia said it is a non-political service organization, their motto is 'we serve'. so i got a picture of the performer. with the breakfast it may have been the first time i saw applesauce offered with the pancakes and sausage. i looked at the cars in the showroom and there was two classic cars as well, both plymouth models. but not the 'christine' car as that was a 1958 fury and the one there was a 1963. once i got back i went online for a little while, then had lunch. i tried watching 'ernest scared stupid', the last of the 3 on the recent purchase of a DVD, but i was too tired and shut it off about midway through. then i laid down. i got up to have an early dinner and then went to perform at an open-mic. many of the stories were about car-shopping this week. when i got back i finished watching the movie. later on i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 9 cents.

it runs
my car had a 6-year run, it was sold this afternoon. one thing i was told by the appraiser is that 'it runs'. which i already knew as i drove it in there. i got a lower amount than what it was 'sight unseen' but i just wanted something from it. i did not pursue another offer as i had to think about logistics. the one i did got me home in an uber. i did some errand running before getting started, stopped at the post office and two orders to pick up. then i wanted to get the car ready. there was new plates to put on that had just arrived. and i wanted to move things out of one car and into the other. by then it was midday, so i wanted to have lunch before going anywhere. once i got back i went to eagan, first had a blizzard at dairy queen, then on to hy-vee for groceries. then after this was done i laid own for a little while, and went to aldi for my weekly grocery order there. and i turned on the baseball game on Fox, rockies playing the twins nearby in minneapolis. twins won 6-0. during my walks i found 1 dollar 39 cents.
not the wisconsin town
went to have dinner with my college roommate and some others, grilled and seasoned pork chops. was told the coke and rum was not the wisconsin town, appleton. i did fairly well at the card game we played, aided by doing stage performing and hearing many lewd things there. first time i had seen his brother in years, and my friend had his teenage son for visitation this weekend. i brought beer, first time i had been there in nearly a year i think. i last recall being there on the 4th of july. we also watched some of hockey game, the stanley cup finals. colorado played tampa bay, game 5. later on i went on a walk and found 54 cents. there was no 'big bang theory' reruns to watch because of traveling to farmington. at work it was nice to be back after 2 days off. even said so to various people, who might not have noticed that i was absent. thankful that not much was left over for me to do.

the lot guy
i have a car again, a toyota. i started early on car shopping and sent 2 messages to different dealers. both sent emails, one called me. found out they were willing to have a lot guy pick me up and bring me to the dealership. we had a nice chat on the way in, covering many subjects. one of these was seeing some empty buildings, and how i have no choice but to write it off as 'economic darwinism'. but i still bemoan it. it took plenty of time to get it done, but by the end of the day it was finished. it meant calling a rep from the credit union, same one from the previous day, to find out there was some restrictions on the promotion rate i was approved for. i got a mechanic check done on the car, a place near the bank, and the result was hearing how the shop spoke well of the dealer and of the car. this made it easier to go forward. so i liked being able to call my boss and say i would be back at work on friday. i let a college roommate know by text, and the response was 'that was fast'. well i wanted to go back to work. later in the evening i went on a walk and found 85 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when amy said ' i am counting on it' as she was sick and sheldon was rubbing something on her chest, and was warned about tingling. it was followed by the one where the friends told their holiday stories. sheldon and amy went to texas, leonard and penny went on a christmas tree shopping fiasco.
southwest transit
i went car shopping and it was a no-go. went to a place in eden prairie and the finance company said there was too many flaws with the car, it would have led to getting a different kind of loan. couldn't ignore that. so i asked about getting back home, and found a much less expensive way than the cab i took to the dealership. it was southwest transit. was picked up at a menards, then over to southdale mall in edina, where i was able to get onto a metro transit bus to get the rest of the way home. pleased that i even got a free transfer from the original driver. guess i learned quick about a purchase like this, it meant i needed more time to do it right. so i called my boss in the early evening and said i needed another day. had to accept some of the necessary time involved with certain steps of the process. for one thing, i wanted a pre-approval from the credit union before i went anywhere. and i was waiting for it until midday. when i was coming back from the family dollar with some chili to heat up for lunch i got the call. later in the evening i went on a walk and found 43 cents. the 'big bang theory' rerun was when howard and bernadette had their first baby.

working on the sign
in the morning i looked outside the window and noticed there was somebody working on the sign for the nearby business. so i got a picture of it. i was discreet about it, and far enough away, so it is likely that no one noticed it at all. first day back after the holiday but not too much out of the ordinary. of course i did the returned checks, a weekly thing. notable was somebody writing on the envelope that they would sue us to get us to stop sending mail to them for somebody that wasn't them. so i kept that one in the envelope so the business line would see it. our tax specialist got 5 checks, one for a million and one was less than a hundred. and there was plenty to be overnighted near the end of the day. i called a college roommate in the evening as i was looking for advice about a big purchase. and what i was told was helpful. later on i went on a walk and found 37 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when amy tried to re-gift the 'bestie painting' to penny. it was followed by when penny got a friendly classmate, who asked 'did he make you type that?' and then alex, sheldon's assistant, hits on leonard, but it isn't taken seriously by him.

junked appliances
when i was out for a walk i saw a garage that was full of junked appliances. so i got a picture of it. some refrigerators and some stoves. on another walk i heard somebody's sob story about how many kids they have and needing bus fare to get to a food bank. i said i was just scraping by myself. i found ways to stay active on a day off. i went to a little target and got a tube of aim toothpaste, it can be hard to find. i slept for a while in the afternoon, after watching another DVD movie, 'ernest goes to camp'. much like others in this franchise, the slapstick doesn't work for me as well as it did when i was a youngster. i also watched 'jeopardy', first time i saw it with mayim bialik as host. i knew an answer about a zodiac sign, taurus, that a contestant couldn't answer. i noticed how some laughed when the answer was 'big bang theory', as in the science theory, since mayim was on the sitcom of the same name. i performed in the evening and i think the bit getting the most reaction was the one about the 2 movies i saw over the weekend. during my walks i found 70 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when there was two guests on 'fun with flags', wil wheaton and then levar burton. it was followed by the one where bert wins an award and sheldon keeps hurting himself.

dirty rotten scoundrels movie
in the afternoon i watched another DVD movie, another recent purchase from a resale shop, 'dirty rotten scoundrels'. i recognized steve martin in it. i hadn't seen it before, but recall the previews on TV, to the tune of 'comfort and joy', where one line was 'michael caine collects their revenue'. so it must have been released around christmas. the ending was long but that is what made the movie, as it was the bet between the rival con artists. it kept me guessing, and it didn't end the way i expected it to. i was thinking more than once, 'so is it done now?' and it wasn't. i have enjoyed conmen movies before as i like seeing how they pull it off. in fact there was even one called 'the grifters'. there was multiple scenes at a roulette wheel in a casino. in the morning i went on a long walk and when i got back i picked up a 6-pack of kool-aid from the family dollar. i was bummed that there was very little toothpaste on the shelves, and i got some ideas on where i could go for what i was looking for. then it was lunchtime, had some pizza, then turned the radio on to the baseball game, st. paul saints were playing in columbus. it was a wild game, saints won 11-10, i was laying down so i missed some of it as i fell asleep for a while. then i put in the movie. and then it was time for the evening meal, a pot pie. i also finished the gelato from aldi. i was trading text messages with my college roommate, trying to get something figured out for next weekend. during my walks i found 2 dollars 28 cents.

prairie home companion movie
this afternoon i watched a DVD movie, a recent purchase from a resale shop, 'prairie home companion'. i recall seeing it at theaters but probably not since then. i did make it to this show in person later on, in 2010 as i recall. an all-star cast was nice, including tommy lee jones, woody harrelson, john c reilly, lily tomlin and of course garrison keillor. it was like watching it again for the first time, as i didn't recall the lady in the white trench coat, an 'angel of death' maybe? the 'bad jokes' segment reminded me of one i had heard as a kid from a football coach. much of the movie takes place backstage.
i didn't do all that much today. i made it to the post office where i sent off my passport renewal. while there i got a charlie brown greeting card, and some stamps. i asked to look at what was available and said i like the ones of the mississippi river, as it reminded me of the johnny cash song 'big river'. i got a tracking number for the passport. then i went home. in the early afternoon, after having lunch- an egg salad sandwich from the speedway gas station- i went to aldi for my weekly grocery order. then i watched the movie, and when it was done the USFL game was on Fox, tampa bay vs. birmingham. i didn't watch it that close. i laid down and fell asleep. when i woke up the baseball game was on, cleveland playing the L. A. Dodgers. once the Dodgers went ahead 5-1 i went online, before that i was watching the game from my easy chair. later in the evening i went on a walk and found 14 cents. i also decided to thin the herd a little on the pages i like on facebook, after liking a new one. probably should do the same with the list of friends as well, in the name of 'stressing quality'. although some pages i was unable to 'unlike' as i think they had already been deleted.

liquor store discount cart
after work this evening i went to a liquor store near me and as usual i was pleased with what i found in the discount cart. i got a bottle of fat tire and a can of michelob golden light so now 4 beers are waiting. i did not go to hy-vee tonight, but still might make it this weekend. at work i was asked to find a check while doing the weekly refund check file. i think some of the confusion stemmed from those two words sounding almost the same, as it was a 'returned' check. i ended up finding 3 checks for that payee, a grocery store chain. and the one i was asked to find wasn't the most recent. after i emailed my findings the response was to send all three, so i did at the end of the day. around midday i called the museum and got a live person this time, and was informed the museum is closed this monday. i knew they were closed most mondays but also knew they are still open on some holidays, and monday is a holiday. in the evening i ordered my license plate renewal online, as well as a book from amazon. i had been to a DMV office in person near work this morning but it sounded like a long wait in line, couldn't afford to wait. on facebook a classmate said she has covid, an a few others just got it as well. so it sounds like i made the right choice to skip the reunion which was a week ago. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 75 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when bernadette and amy write a paper for penny. it was followed by the one where raj was too ashamed to admit he was dating the janitor.
five tax checks
i said to the tax specialist around midday 'i think this is it' as the I-pay file had 9 checks in it, and 5 were for over a million. i was correct, as all five for over a million had his name on it. so i got them in a courier envelope and in the lockbox. although there was a delay on hearing back. no longer a big deal when i see checks for over a million, but probably the first time i saw 5 at the same time, totaling about 12 million. it is a big bank, guess they do pay a lot in taxes to various government agencies. i did not see my vacation replacement visit the shop, although i sent an I.M. following up to an earlier chat about toner cartridges. guess he might be done with jury service already, which started this week. for the evening meal i drank the can of utepils so now 2 beers are waiting. later in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 37 cents. i did pick up a bottle of mustard after work at the family dollar. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard got back from space and his friends didn't care, but he gets some cheesecake. the friends were drawing chocolate chip cookies as part of pictionary, as well as a pie eating contest. it was followed by the one where fun with flags has a house band, not sure if i had seen that one before.

another courier pickup
there was another courier pickup of a check, but a different courier this time. i still have them give their name and courier company on the printed email so i could report back to the business line about who has taken ownership of the check. it was in the afternoon and i said it was fine to meet them in the branch as i know some others had done this before. i got caught up on running the fargo checks through the machine, and i checked the tracking numbers from the previous day. looks like both boxes overnighted to fargo made it there. the tax specialist asked about any checks but neither i-pay file had any to send his way. had to say i can only print the checks that have been approved, and don't know who the approvers are. in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 17 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon has an assistant, then amy said to penny 'that skank is your problem not mine'. it was followed by the one where sheldon and amy have dinner guests. i tried picking up a few things at a dollar store, but it was not to be. door was locked although people were inside, and i made it before the posted closing time. guess i will go to another store to get what i need.

two boxes overnighted
i got some help from a colleague on doing the labels for the two boxes of checks being overnighted to fargo. it meant entering the dimensions and the weight. she said her family owned a UPS store. there was a question bout sending them inter-office, there was a quick meeting about it but not with the boss as he is out of office for the rest of the week. i said this was decided by the boss and the business line. branch manager found me as well, saying a courier was picking up checks. except i put them out at the lockbox and another courier must have picked them up. i sent an I.M. to our tax specialist, who said he got his checks. that was one of the two recipients. it was nice hearing from my 'work spouse'. i shared about the alumni event/twins game over the weekend, and i got to hear about my co-worker's daughter, who is now a teacher. she is teaching 3rd grade summer school. in the evening i went on a walk and found 74 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when the other astronauts drew on howard's face. and amy said to penny it was a good thing you don't have a dog, about how she couldn't end it with leonard. it was followed by the one where sheldon and amy have a toothbrush ceremony.

five meetings
at work there was five meetings, three were about the same subject, the fargo files. it was often hard to know what part was about my role, when it was often about the procedures of another department. most days i have zero meetings, so it was harder to get all of my work done but i knew full well that i had to try harder as well. another notable thing about the day was having a courier show up for a check. the branch manager found me. i asked for their name, and when they signed the printed email i recognized it as somebody who picked up checks for our tax specialist. so it put my mind at ease once i knew who had taken ownership, so i could report it to the business line. near the end of the day i had to confirm a physical address for over a thousand checks being overnighted to fargo, as the one on the checks is a p.o. box. response arrived after my leave time, so it had to roll over to the next day. in the evening i went on a walk and found 72 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard was in space, and lied to both his wife, and his mother, about the living arrangements. it was followed by the one where penny said 'the neighbors are weird' as sheldon and amy argue about science after moving in together, then are turned on and it is implied that they are going to have sex. i went to the open-mic to perform, saw a guitar player for the first time in a while, we spoke bout baseball before the show started. show runner liked my bit about a shirtless, barefoot man.

king corn movie
just before midday i watched a DVD movie, a recent purchase from a re-sale shop, 'king corn'. it was about two young men moving to iow to plant and grow one acre of corn, a documentary. i had seen it at theaters many years ago, at the u. of minnesota campus. also nice to watch the special features, which included an interview with iowa senator charles grassley. then i got lunch at a nearby subway, i had a gift card to use, got a footlong roast chicken sandwich. brought it home to eat it. i watched some of the st. paul saints baseball game on TV, vs. rochester, but not a lot as i laid down and fell asleep. later on i watched some of a USFL game, new orleans vs. tampa bay. in the evening after watching 'the simpsons', i called a college roommate, first time in months. trying to arrange an outing together, although a museum may be out due to limited hours of operation. 'simpsons' included a storyline about home brew, and when it was about monks making beer it reminded me of paulaner, a german beer. since it was class reunion weekend, i looked at a memory book for the first time in years and added a few things to it, including 6 pictures as i noticed there weren't any in it. once i found the pictures of course, they were wallet size and were buried in a box and i had to keep guessing which box i left them in. sounds like at least one classmate had asked about me, so this means there were at least two that were disappointed due to my not attending. later on i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 6 cents. i also called my dad and as usual the call was long, and challenging as well as too much of the call was about things that happened many years, even decades, ago. tried to steer it towards more pleasant subjects but hard to do.

romy and michele movie
in the evening i put in a DVD movie, 'romy and michele'. i had bought it a while back, and had seen it at theaters just before attending a class reunion. i liked janeane garofalo in it. this is a fun farce of a movie, about two friends trying to lie about being successful in order to impress people at their class reunion. i hadn't seen it in a while but it holds up well. plenty of good music in it, including but not limited to 'time after time' by cyndi lauper. as a fan of the pretenders, i liked hearing 'don't get me wrong' in it. the special features on it were nice, besides the trailer there was a featurette and some recommendations. there were six movies recommended, and i had seen some of them, including 'she's all that'. it seemed like a good time to watch it again this weekend as i was invited to my class reunion in iowa, but did not attend due to a scheduling conflict.
the event i attended was an alumni outing through the university of iowa, meeting at a bar near the twins stadium and then attending the game. it was nice connecting with some people, including the 'event coordinator', for the first time since the pandemic hit. plenty of appetizers there, and i drank a can of pabst blue ribbon. great game as well, twins fell behind early 3-0, but went ahead 4-3 on a grand slam and never trailed again after that, a 6-5 win over tampa.
for those who know me well, it was 'no contest' as to which event i would choose. not only do i love baseball, proximity helped as i could take the light rail there. and with the class reunion, it would have meant driving over four hours one-way and getting a hotel room. i had a weird dream just days prior, that i attended the reunion and forgot about the game. the first reunion i did not attend. i wasn't enjoying them enough, various factors contributed. the low attendance, for one thing. the facebook factor might be involved, as it is easier to spy on people now. and i was getting hassled by some people. and as i told a classmate when i was in town last august, too many bad memories. i just forgot about them for a while, or lied to myself as the truth was too awful to bear. 'awful' was a term i used in a 2017 posting, inspired by a writer friend who spoke about attending her reunion. so there was a good chance that even without the scheduling conflict, i would have skipped this one. if i wanted to see a friend bad enough, i didn't wait for a reunion, which is held only every 5 years. later in the evening i went on a walk and found 28 cents. i still did some errand running in the morning, one item to pick up at the post office. and i went to the copy store and printed 3 pages, before getting on the light rail to the twins game. a 'work spouse' said i made the right choice after signing up and paying for the baseball game. not the first time, and probably not the last, where i choose baseball over another event.
patriotic cupcakes
i made it to hy-vee in eagan tonight, after a week off. and i saw the patriotic cupcakes again from hostess, they weren't easily found for a while, so i bought a box. actually the receipt called them 'star spangled'. this is the same day that i had just finished the second box of red white and blue twinkies. i saw patriotic cap'n crunch cereal as well, but i will wait a week to buy it as there was plenty on display there. and it meant getting 'space jam' fruit snacks, also after a week off. at work i had hoped to get caught up on the fargo files, but it was not to be. i ran the first day through the envelope stuffer and then got an email that said 'hold off on sending those out'. so only the special handling went out for that day- overnight, inter-office, and foreign, as it wasn't part of the range of check numbers given. the second day was fine though, i am told, so i ran those through and sent them out. the first day is waiting in a mail tub, don't know when i might hear more. i asked why one line was emailing requests for overnights, they called them 'expedites', wondering why they were not marking 'overnight' on those checks. later i showed them a check copy. i was told the template doesn't allow them to enter it anywhere. had to ask, it was relevant when only one of the three i overnighted for that business line were marked as 'overnight'. in the evening i went on a walk and found 76 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard and bernadette had their wedding on a rooftop, told as a flashback while howard was waiting for the rocket to blast off. it was followed by the one where sheldon has an energy drink after seeing 'the flash' egg him on, then the friends tell the military they need more time to finish the project.

county fair canceled
one page i printed this morning was about the ramsey county fair in maplewood being canceled for the 3rd straight year. it was not held in 2021, even though most county fairs in MN were, due to 'crowd control issues'- no gates. although the official reason was covid. they've had plenty of time to correct it. i found out in my facebook news feed due to a recommended site, a TV station. there were plenty of comments on the thread, over a hundred as i recall. some blamed politics, some blamed fights and theft. it was slated for a weekend in mid-july, in my comment i said i would just find something else to do. plenty of events to choose from during the summer. at work i found out some of the fargo checks were un-printable, blank. it was due to one business line being dumped into the wrong bucket in my system. so i had to let I.T. know, who was able to delete the file and send it to the right bucket. it led to me being asked to drop off an I.T. meeting after about two minutes as i no longer needed to be part of the dial-in meeting. fine with me, if the checks were printing then i can get my work done. in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 47 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard found out his space mission was canceled, but then moved up. it was followed by the one where the friends get retina scanners as their military mission was approved. for the evening meal i drank the can of coors light so now 3 beers are waiting.

hallway meeting intros
there was a team huddle mid-morning, at a different conference room than before, the one near the breakroom. then right after it was a hallway meeting on third floor where we made introductions. there were a few people in this meeting that i still hadn't met and this should be a big deal as i have been with the bank for 2 years. first time doing the hallway meeting due to having more 'return to office' days, 2 per week. then there was a dial-in about the fargo check files in the afternoon, just after i returned from lunch. i felt lost on that one as much of it was about internal procedures for another department. i printed their files, half of them anyway, but very little went out because there wasn't enough time to run checks through the machine. but as i said to my boss, it is not up to me. in the evening i went on a walk and found 6 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when howard had his bachelor party and bernadette found out more stories about him. it was followed by part two of leonard and penny renewing their vows. so it meant seeing more of their families, especially penny's. i liked penny saying it was a reminder of why they eloped the first time. sad but true.

label created
a colleague sent me an I.M. again, same one as last week who had questions about a postmaster check. i was asked to look up a tracking number and it said 'label created', nothing else. so we don't know the origin of the package. thankful it didn't take as long to handle it. i found out it was somebody assigned to the same office as me, because i went to the employee directory. and the photo had a fish in it. i let them now that it would say where it was picked up from, once it has been, but at that point it wasn't. i know this from the tracking numbers i sometimes follow. also odd was being told they didn't even know what was being sent. the two largest files of the day, both coming from fargo, did not arrive. there was some emails about it. and i was asked to join a dial in meeting, which didn't last long. it was about a fraudulent check, i was asked to look up a check number. the amount and the payee didn't match the system. toner cartridge arrived, so there is a spare one again. in the evening i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 58 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon put on a french maid costume in order to have howard set up a meeting with steve hawking. it was followed by the one where the families are arriving for leonard and penny renewing their vows. so of course there was arguing. but i liked it because judd hirsch is a guest star, as leonard's dad. i went to a nearby liquor store and got a can of hamm's so now there are 4 beers waiting.
send it to the branch
there was some oddball mailings forwarded to this office and i scanned them to customer service. the response i got for some of them was to send it to the branch. after the first two i found out from the branch manager that she would take ownership but it still needed to be forwarded on somewhere else. i wasn't expecting a third so quickly so it hasn't been sent yet but will be the next day when i find the time. this was shortly after the branch manager found me on third floor, where i had just sent a package, and said the courier for the envelope order had arrived. the courier noticed that last month's order had been sent UPS ground, and i did speak of having to call the envelope company about it. the volume of checks being overnighted was down, which was fine with me. a business line that sends those requests in the afternoon didn't send any this time. in the evening i went on a walk and found 2 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when raj got a dog. it was followed by the one where bernadette is pregnant and stays with sheldon to play D and D while the others go to a wine tasting.

jazzfest new orleans movie
this afternoon i went to see a movie, 'jazzfest new orleans'. it was a documentary, and it was playing at the mall in eden prairie. i didn't make it in time for the first screening of the day so it was like being on layover at an airport, waiting for the next one. i mainly looked around at two stores, first the hallmark and then the barnes an noble. i was really disciplined, by not buying anything from either store. especially when the former has charlie brown items and the latter has not just books but also CDs and DVDs. i got pictures of some things of interest to me, especially the history books, so i could look them up online later. one disc said it had seven 'bandit', as in 'smokey and the bandit', movies, i had known of only three. i was the only one at the screening, guess i am familiar with how this kind of movie is 'limited interest'. it covered the history of the music festival, which has been around for just over 50 years. i had heard of many of the musicians interviewed for it, including pitbull and katy perry. it served as a nice reminder of visiting 'the big easy' just under 20 years go. it does have footage from the 2005 hurricane/flood, which reminded me of how i was angry because of seeing the city drown. it included the image of a man waving a flag on top of a house while two others held up a sign saying 'help us'. after two years of no festival due to the pandemic, they do have it again and there is footage of this as well. jimmy buffett, the 'margaritaville' performer, was listed as a producer of the movie. after the movie was done i got a sandwich at a nearby gas station and drove to an open-mic, where i told the story of being at the mall as well as how i am attending a twins game in less than a week instead of my class reunion. later on i went on a walk and found 29 cents.

small engine repair movie
this morning i watched a DVD movie, a redbox rental, 'small engine repair'. this was a free movie due to using points. it had been on my list for a while, not sure why i passed on it for so long. it is about three friends in a new england town, although it took a while to see the repair shop that gives the movie its name. the shop owner has a daughter, and an estranged wife. the movie really only got good with its ending, which had some twists and turns to it that involved social media. the credits said it was based on a play. after the movie was done it was time for errand running. first stop the post office, one order to pick up. then i dumped the movie at the gas station and sent recycle to the capitol. i went home and had lunch, then went for a haircut. nearby was a book shop, where i bought 2 charlie brown books. it was 40 percent off, which was odd since 'liquidation sale' wasn't mentioned on the chalkboard outside. only the website said the store was closing at the end of the month. searching for ideas on their website led to me ordering a 3rd charlie brown book, from amazon. i had a USFL game on while checking email but barely watched it, birmingham edged new orleans. then i went to aldi for my weekly grocery order. and i made it back in time for the baseball game on Fox, cardinals at cubs. cardinals won 7-4 in 10 innings. later on i went on a walk and found 6 cents.
no meatballs, just spaghetti
i go to lunch and open the can of spaghetti. except i noticed there was no meatballs, even though the label says there is. i ate it anyway, although it seemed bland. notable about the day was the shipment of check stock arriving around midday. i got an I.M. around that time and said my response had to wait until i was done with the shipment. then i was answering questions off and on from this same employee for the rest of the day. about what amounted to be just one check. it led to somebody coming from another bank office to pick it up at the branch. i even deferred to my boss as it was the first time somebody who didn't work in the building wanted to pick it up. i kept saying i can overnight it. the payee was a postmaster, one of three for the day. this one was for st. paul. the other two were for sioux falls and fargo, and requested by other people. late in the evening i went on a walk and found 53 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when amy made a scene to get sheldon's attention, penny recommended it. this was followed by the one where sheldon ranted about line cutting. i had to call an audible on grocery shopping tonight due to construction, more than likely, on the way to hy-vee in eagan. i found a place to turn around and went to another store. i also had to get beer at a different liquor store. i got a can of coors light, so now 3 beers are waiting.

alternate signature
i knew there was an alternate signature on some of the checks that i print, i couldn't recall what business line used it. i just knew it was one that i don't see too often. well i did this afternoon and both checks were slated to be overnighted, same payee so going to the same place. i had been asked by my boss who i think of as senior leaders and was told only one signature was on the checks, well i haven't met either of those people who sign them. now i have some evidence to present if i wish to do so. the boss also spoke of needing to order check stock earlier, so we don't have to dip into the reserve table as much. i was trained to order all supplies at the same time, first of the month. but with supply chain issues there must be the concern that we might run way too low again while waiting for a shipment. although lately i see on the label that the boxes are coming from shakopee, in the same metro area as us, so they are arriving more quickly than they were. in the evening i went on a walk and found 84 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon had penny cut his hair, after playing bongos. it was followed by the one where raj brags about dating two women at the same time, and it was part of 'who is mad at who' in terms of what room the friends went into. it was annoying to hear raj brag about it. i drank the bottle of hofbrau with the evening meal so now 2 beers are waiting.

toner cartridges
the branch manager rang the check shop doorbell and asked if i had seen any smaller toner cartridges. i said i had not. i said there were some boxes on the fourth floor delivery table. at lunchtime i asked where it was found and was told it was buried in an un-occupied cubicle in the branch. it did remind me how the cartridges i use are auto-shipped but i don't have the spare one yet even though i changed it last week. if it doesn't arrive soon i will have to start inquiring about it. wondering if the recent holiday is causing any delays with it. when i arrived in the morning there was 2 emails about my service anniversary with the bank, 2 years. one of them was from the senior leader that i met for the first time at the twins game in april. on facebook there were pictures of family with my niece's baby. i would like to make it to iowa to meet the kid sometime this summer. i am still trying to plan out my travels. in the evening i went on a walk and found 30 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when amy gave penny the 'bestie painting'. it was followed by the one where the friends do 'never have i ever' and it leads to leonard saying he has a secret bank account.
