i found ways to stay busy on veterans day. i got a haircut at great clips. it was going to be at sport clips but i get there and the sign on the door said it was 'temporarily closed' and directed customers to the next closest location. i have lost count how many different hair shops i have been to since the pandemic hit. so after getting some cheese and a drinkable yogurt at target i made it over to great clips. it was chosen largely because i wanted to print some things at the nearby fedex office. after seeing there would be a wait for service, i went to get a lemon bar and a pumpkin spice latte at the adjacent caribou coffee. i found out this is a common thing to do. but i went right back to great clips after getting my order, so i would be ready when my name was called. i am told sometimes they do go over and try to find people at caribou, but i wasn't counting on this. i referred to how karaoke venues will say 'going once, twice' then move on to the next name on the list. i had considered this place before, but got there too late in the day. once i was done there it was time for lunch so i went home and ate there. late in the afternoon i watched 'jeopardy' for the first time in a while. it was a tournament of champions. i said 'fool!' the second time when a contestant decided to bet it all on a daily double, but both times it paid off and that was the winner of the day. i learned something as well, how the term 'podunk' has an origin in the name of a tribe in connecticut. in the evening i made my customary visit to the hy-vee in eagan. and i went to their liquor store first, where i got a can of schell's, so now 6 beers are waiting. later on i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 33 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when sheldon went to a cowboy bar, and amy played 'soft kitty' on auto-harp. it was followed by the one where raj and howard tried to pick up goth chicks, and one of them, sarah, kept saying 'not that anyone cares'. i liked her a lot.
