mid-morning i went to see a movie, 'dreaming wild', at southdale in edina. i recognized casey affleck and beau bridges in it. this was about music that was re-discovered 30 years later. i liked the scenery in it as it was filmed in washington state, seeing a logging truck and the wide-open countryside with some dirt roads. even noticed a spokane 74 shirt in one scene, the world's fair that was in the area. the story shifted between the 1970s, when the album was made, and the present time. sometimes they seemed to be presented together, where casey shares a scene with his younger self. i am used to seeing the disclaimer in the credits that said 'some scenes and characters were invented for dramatic effect' so no surprise seeing it here. with the music that wasn't done by the brothers the standout was bob dylan's 'hard rain', likely because it was in another movie i had seen. 'born on the fourth of july'. it was raining when i got out of the movie, good thing i brought my rain jacket. i went home and had lunch there, then laid down for a while. i liked how there was less that i had booked compared to the previous day. then i ate before i went to perform at an open-mic. liked seeing a performer i hadn't seen in a while, his grandpa had played gopher hockey. i was wearing the fringe volunteer shirt and did a story about it, along with some about the bank. then i did dishes and capped the night with another fringe show, the third of the festival. it was 'five prisoners', five vignettes. some worked better than others, the final scene worked best for me. it was a debate about rehab and justice, also memorable as the alien was wearing green costume. during my walks i found 51 cents.
