giving tree, shel silverstein

i made a nice find at a little free library, it was the book called 'giving tree' by shel silverstein. i was familiar with this author due to his also writing songs made famous by loretta lynn, as well as johnny cash. but i think this was the first time i had read any of his books. when i was young i recall there was a 'giving tree' at church where people could leave gifts, guess that name was inspired by this book. it was about a tree that kept giving to a man over the course of the man's life, kind of a sad story. i recall this being the theme of some postage stamps i had bought during a visit to st. louis. a week earlier i had found four books on a walk, i decided to keep two of them. not just the art book, but also one about jonas salk. and i decided to leave the other two at this little free library when i got a look at what was already there. i am pleased with having all three of these books. i stayed in for much of the day, didn't have a lot to do. i went through the baseball cards i had bought a week earlier and got them in to binders. i did go eat at IKEA for lunch as i wanted to use one of my birthday offers, free cake. i got the swedish meatball meal. i have one offer left to use, at redbox. i placed another order for golden books at amazon, paying with the gift cards i had earned recently. when i went to aldi i got more than just the animal crackers i needed for my lunch at work, i also got some cookies as well as sliced cheese. in the evening i went on a walk and found 63 cents.
