i finally got an album for my smashed penny souvenirs tonight, it can hold 36 pennies and 21 slots are already filled. it's a good look back at many of the places i've visited, like a cabela's in owatanna, minnesota. but also the mark twain museum in hannibal, missouri, chinatown in san francisco, 2 each from new york and seattle, and 4 from st. louis. there's a web address on the back, 'penny collector', that mentions other places with these machines. so it has given me some ideas about where to get more, nothing wrong with seeking them out as it's a cheap souvenir. just need 2 quarters and a penny, and some of these places i do visit every so often. even if it's just on an annual basis. looking at the list by states, it's mostly tourist sites, as expected. since people want a memory of being there, much like why i try to save event tickets from concerts, sporting events, and movies whenever possible. now it's just a matter of getting the event tickets in a scrapbook when i find the time for it.
i did resume the bridge walk at lunch today, and made it to the comedy club tonight. some of my friends were in a contest and i correctly guessed 2 of the 3 who advanced to the semifinals.
