this afternoon I went to an event at the saints baseball stadium honoring the 'miracle on ice' at the 1980 Olympic games. there was a replica of the herb brooks statue near thr entrance where people were taking pictures. the video board in center field was showing footage of the game, and two of the local high schools played a game in the ice on the infield. I got a small American flag on a stick, but not the imitation medals, apparently sponsored by eco-lab. I also got a look inside the baseball museum, which had some hockey artifacts. but it sounds like they may have been on loan, and this may have been the last day to see them. so I am thankful I went there.
in the evening, after the 6pm news, I went grocery shopping, then on to a speedway to get dinner. it was a chili dog and a bag of chips. when I got home I watched two DVDs. one was an HBO- produced documentary about the miracle on ice team, made in 2001. I found this many years ago at a family dollar store. the other was the major league baseball all-century team. after watching the 10pm news I ventured out again, this time to sing karaoke. I sang 'spiderwebs' by no doubt.
