there are many pictures i have from day one of the MN state fair, but the one on a statue of liberty stands out as it its what the day is about. it says 'free to migrate'. this was in the agriculture building, also where i saw the displays about 'ghostbusters' and 'great pumpkin'. i arrived before the two people i did the fair with, including the retired postal worker. i got a malt at the place next to the giant slide. after this it was plenty of stops for beer as he likes his beer, as well as to enjoy the live music. met them at the bazaar. there was some bluegrass, world music, and blues. i did drink more beer than typical, but i think due to the walking i burned off some of it. there was lift bridge, surly, and grain belt. for food it was a chili dog, garlic fries, and a pulled pork sandwich. the last stop of the day was the fine arts building, something i requested. saw the fancy comic there. always some good art there, three stood out to me. there was a little girl in a winter coat and boots, the louis sullivan bank in owatonna, and basketball hoop in a cemetery. i have been to that bank. before the fine arts i got one of two stuffed animals near the history building and the marketplace. saw a man in a cheerios shirt dancing at two of the places we stopped at. bus routes were hard to follow, but i lucked out. the driver still got me fairly close to home although i am told that bus line is on a rush hour schedule and it looked like i would need to walk the last two miles home. so of course i said thank you. driver said it was not a big deal, on his way back to the garage. when i got back i went on a walk and found 29 cents. saw a forklift outside the dollar store and all of the shelves had been moved out.
