this morning i watched a DVD movie, a redbox rental, '80 for brady'. i recognized lily tomlin, jane fonda, and sally field in it. and sally was why i wanted to see it. i probably use the term 'farce' too much, but it does describe this movie well. because many parts of the storyline are ridiculous and unlikely. but i still like this story of four geriatric ladies at the super bowl. because it was quality time spent with friends, something that most of us can relate to. in an early scene i knew how it would end, because there would be no movie if they can't get their friend out of the retirement home. it was just a question of how they were going to pull it off, and it was still clever and funny. there were plenty of cast members listed as playing themselves, and not just tom brady or other patriots players. no surprise how sally ended up being the most likeable character in my book. once the movie was done it was time to get going. nothing to pick up at the post office, but i hadn't ordered anything either. then it was on to a meetup event, at the sea salt restaurant in a park in south minneapolis. it was a long line but good food, thankful i made it. there was more fries than what i was used to having in my order, so i took half of them home with me. saw a steve martin photo in a display case when ordering the fish sandwich and fries. i laid down for a while after i got back, then i did some more errand running. i went to aldi for groceries, then dumped the movie and went to jersey mike's for a sandwich. the Fox baseball game of the week had just started when i got back, reds went on to beat the cubs 8-5. later on i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 9 cents.
