this morning the last song i heard during the drive to the office was 'beaches', by beabadoobee. i had heard it the day before, but figured the title might not have been enough to find it in an online search. i paid closer attention to the lyrics the second time, so i had something to write down and look up right away. this performer's real name is Beatrice Laus, born in the Philippines but arrived in Great Britain with her family at age three. not only does it sound good, hearing the guitar and drums as well as the lyrics, but reading the words is nice, especially 'who knows the actual truth?' and 'i'm sure now'. score one for changing the radio station in my car to 89.3, the current. plenty of indie music on that channel that i don't hear anywhere else. this was also where i found the one called first aid kit, the two sisters from Sweden. at work there was a one-check file, it was overnighted to the caymans, a reminder of John Grisham movies where people offshore money there. why it wasn't sent to i-pay, i don't know. for my purposes it was lumped together with i-pay since i had to print the Fargo files first and i had the i-pay file by the time i was done. my boss put me on an email thread, asking where the test checks were that i sent to Canada. no response yet on the result since i overnighted them. and i was asked to get another computer monitor from the deserted third floor, for a colleague. it is now in the check shop next to the other one, don't know when either is getting picked up. in the evening i watched the debate between the two candidates for vice president. this one was more civil than the two presidential debates. later on, i went on a walk and found 1 dollar 15 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when leonard and lesley hooked up but lesley said she was good until new year's. it was followed by the one where raj was caught snooping when dermatologist emily had to go to the hospital.
