there was an email early in the workday saying there was donuts in honor of 44 years of service to the bank. i didn't know the colleague but i went to that floor and chose a donut with a cherry on top. it was from the place that is in the skyway nearby and opened in the past year. there was a dial-in meeting mid-morning, a quarterly town hall if i am not mistaken. when the team lead asked how things were going by instant message, i said i was doing the best i can. i know this was due to the boss being out, but i still like the gesture. in the evening was a mic that i normally perform at, but this is the first one that i skipped. i found another one where i feel more comfortable and welcome at, which is most important.
