Mason City continues to be helpful with music education. In the same Facebook posting where it led to me listening to an anti-Led Zeppelin song, he spoke of why he likes Neil Young, and it was the song 'Down by the river'. I did choose a version of it on Youtube, a shorter one of under 5 minutes, as many others were way longer. I listened to a version with Crosby Stills and Nash. It is all right, but I like other Neil Young songs more like 'Heart of gold' or 'Rocking in the free world'.
Tonight I performed at the comedy club, first after the MC. It was many of the same jokes as the night before. Maryland showed up after I had performed, but he said he didn't want to go onstage tonight. We did speak a little after the show.
I learned something again due to Wii dancing at the office in the afternoon. It was from the song 'Price tag', since the lyrics include mention of a 'Half stack', found out it is a kind of amplifier. We also danced to 'Pump it', but not the version in the movie 'Pulp fiction', it was by the Black eyed peas. 'Don't feel like dancing' and 'Forget you' were others, along with 'California Gurls' by Katy Perry, in honor of her recent performance at the Super Bowl.
At the comedy club tonight, Mr. Pibb did ones about an identical twin, parent trap, only generic sodas, dug wine key into hand, and people dare to ask why. The brothers also performed. First was studio apartment, bathtub, skinny dipping, an kazoo player in a band. The other did ones about Chuck
E Cheese tickets, hit-man suicide, sperm bank robbing, banned from Goodwill, and adopted himself. Tortoise did ones about a George Washington impression, Grand Theft Auto, Cleopatra Genghis Khan and Jeeves, and his dad the congressman. There was a sassy barmaid, but she has to be. A newer comic did ones about a long term financial burden, working at a natural foods grocery store, and Dairy Queen after the game. Next comic did ones about cookies and juice for blood, and bunions. Nebraska did ones about yeast rolls at Golden Corral, alcoholics on the bus, deer hunting, Facebook pictures in jail, and why in a wheelchair. No- mic did ones about moving back from San Antonio, the river-walk and Alamo, body wash bottle, and living in Australia. An electrical engineering student did one about 'Courting'.
