at work i was asked for a tracking number on a check i had overnighted last week. i said it was 'returned to business line', meaning i sent it to another bank office. i was asked if it was a branch, i said it was not. i was also asked what to do about it, i said take it up with that office. something about if a stop payment was needed. the 'one on one' with the boss in the morning was mainly about the open case on the overflow pages. at the end of the day, there was just over two thousand checks left over. i was able to shave five hundred off that total near the end of the day after all other checks were run through. previously i was fine with running through as much as possible until just before lunchtime. but anything that means fewer checks have to be run through the next morning is a good idea.
