it was my final day of the annual visit. i started the day at my hotel room in elk grove village and my flight home was in the late afternoon. i shopped at two places in des plaines, the town i once lived in. one was a farmer's market that had a little tractor near the road, i am aware this is good advertising. i bought some string cheese there, but this looked more like a full service grocery store than just a 'farmer's market'. and i bought some baseball cards at the adjacent dollar tree. i mailed myself a postcard at the post office, across the road. my theme song for this visit is 'bad at love' by halsey, i have been hearing it often lately, including this weekend. relatable, as i am 'bad at love' as well.
i liked how the day was more than just have breakfast, pack up, check out of the hotel, and get on the road. i found the Chicago dogs baseball stadium in Rosemont. i also saw a few innings of a college softball game at a nearby softball diamond, free admission, after hearing the PA announcer.
