i did 2 songs at the karaoke bar tonight. the second was 'about a girl' by nirvana. i had heard another song of theirs, 'lithium', on my car radio on the way to the venue. well it wasn't in the book, so i went with the 'path of least resistance'. although the man in charge of karaoke said he has 'lithium' so later on i can sing that one as well. i think i chose that one as i was thinking of my favorite movie, 'good will hunting', as the robin Williams character said he 'had to see about a girl' and then said 'he stole my line' after will wrote it in a note. the first song i did was 'judas' by lady gsga. i recall the video to it, how there are motorcycle riders in it, as i recall representing the 12 disciples. i liked the line 'in the most biblical sense, i am beyond repentance'. as a performer i understand artists often explore things, and sometimes they see themselves as 'fallen' or 'flawed' so it makes sense to me. a man i often see there was singing as well, and had a big belt buckle on with a dollar sign in the middle of it.
at work i scored 130 tests, so i pushed my record a little higher. there was mention of overtime this weekend, and i will likely do some. the moderator said there was qualifying for it, in terms of how well we score on 'validity papers' but i would like to think that is no problem for me. i check the numbers that are passed around each day, it says i am no worse than anyone else when looking at number of tests scored, and the accuracy as well. compared to how the computer rated it.
