i did a half-day at work, scored 71 tests, and left at 12noon to attend a job fair in Minneapolis. it was at the target center, and in the evening i attended the timberwolves gave there. i was a little disappointed about one company that wasn't there, but there still was plenty of other companies that i could talk to. it was a real eye-opener about what is out there. now it means following up with some of them when i have the time. i didn't want to mill around the arena after the job fair was done, as it wrapped up around 4pm and the game didn't start until 7pm. so i drove home and checked email there and had dinner, then took the light rail from a park and ride to the arena. it was great seeing a comic friend at the job fair and the game, he was the one that told me about it. we didn't have seats together at first, but he found a way to get that done. the wolves beat Memphis 113-94. i don't know if i have a blog nickname for this comic, at first when i met him a few years back i knew him as mason city's friend and a new Yorker. during the game i was thinking we were almost doing a Lt. Dan and Forrest Gump impression, with him being Lt. Dan, so this may be his name now. i am thinking of how he looked after Vietnam, with the hippie hairdo. i had a little godfather's pizza at bobby and steve's before the job fair. i really enjoyed both events, it helped to attend them with a friend, and it seems that i don't do many events with comedy friends away from the clubs.
