girlhood exhibit

went to the 'girlhood' exhibit at the Minnesota history center this afternoon. standouts were mention of feed sacks as DIY clothing, as well as a Twiggy lunchbox thermos. my dad once said to my sister when school clothes shopping how she was 'wearing it like a feed sack', sounded weird to me as a kid, but i guess that was a common thing for a while. as for who was on the thermos, i mainly knew her for having a cameo in the movie 'blues brothers'. i spent just over two hours there, finishing up just before closing time. i bought some souvenirs as well, two stickers. one was of caitlin clark in her WNBA jersey, the other was of the geena davis character in the movie 'league of their own'. neither women were part of the exhibit, but there was a section about girls playing sports, especially basketball. i watched some of the films on display, there was three about birth control and sexually transmitted diseases. the first one, from the World War one era about syphilis, seemed to be that era's version of 'scared straight'. there were six sections in this exhibit, also ones about girls going to school and to work. i lunched at chick-fil-a before the museum, heard the trampled by turtles song 'wait so long' as i was pulling into this food place. in the morning i went to the liquor store, bought two cans of beer, a michelob and a miller, so now five beers are waiting. also went to the post office, two orders were picked up, so i placed two more e-bay orders when i got home. in the evening i got groceries at aldi, during my walks i found 1 dollar 62 cents.
