hopefully they're paying you

in the afternoon i saw a colleague arrive in the archive area on the other side of the fence from the check shop. nothing unusual there, except this is the one that retired less than a month ago. i said 'hopefully they're paying you' and the response from her successor was 'i bought her lunch'. as i recall it didn't take them long to find what they were looking for in those files. there was mention of finding it by social security number. so it was a welcome sight. still a busy day in the shop, because there was more business lines to re-format. i didn't mind it in the morning, but of course there was some more in the afternoon and that left me behind on other duties. it also didn't help that the order of overnight envelopes, placed over a week ago, hasn't arrived yet so it takes longer to get the labels inside the stick-on pouches. i placed another order of envelopes, this time one box. i am largely caught up on getting incoming mail scanned, but still a half-day behind on sending out checks. it will be hard to get caught up for now while doing the 'remediation' project as it is about 3,000 additional checks per day. but last i heard from that business line, based in fargo, is the last day should be this friday. i've been working on it for close to a month so it will be nice when it is done as it will be less hectic. in the evening i went on a walk and found 68 cents. so i have enough for another beer at the end of the week. the 'big bang theory' rerun was when howard found out his space mission is back on, and it conflicts with his wedding ceremony. amy goes on a mission to get sheldon to love her more and it ends with amy in a star trek costume, saying they were playing doctor.
