around midday i went to another George festival, this one i had been to before. it was at St. George Greek orthodox church in St. Paul. i did the typical food and drink there, the gyro and fries and mythos beer. under the tent was some music, at one point there were contests but i wasn't enjoying it as i was saying it was a waste of some good pita bread. i say this because it was being thrown around between contestants and sometimes it hit the ground. looking at the sanctuary this time, when doing a church tour, i had a different perspective after being at a festival a week earlier. some things looked familiar to me, such as the paintings of Christ on the ceiling. Or should i say similar? i saw one man bring a beer in there but i said nothing, as it wasn't my place to call him out for that. but it still didn't look right to me. in the evening i went to the St. Paul Saints baseball game, against Worcester. this is the red sox team, and i know why i chose this game. for a while i was seeing one red sox game a year as i saw it as my way of keeping the memory alive of my favorite movie, 'good will hunting', a movie that changed my life. based on my plans for attending their baseball games this year, it would also get me up to a round number, ten games. at the outset i think i had planned on seeing just seven, based on looking at the promotional schedule. but it is fine to attend games even when no big fireworks show or giveaway item is planned. and i had the time to attend as well. the Saints won, 9-5.
