a bridge was closed for construction, had to use the next one over to get to fringe volunteer training after work. i did a rare thing and parked in a ramp when i was going to work. normally i take the light rail, but i wanted to be on time for this training session and i liked how parking in the ramp didn't cost all that much. it was raining and i got out my Iowa cubs rain poncho for the walk, and i put it on a chair when i got to work to let it dry out a little. i haven't used it much since getting it over six years ago as it is a glorified trash bag. i ate dinner at a holiday gas station before i made it to the training session at the former grain belt complex. this seemed to be the only session in person this year and i preferred that kind of training as it is easier to pick up things like the shirt one is to wear while on duty at the fringe. i just didn't see how things would translate as well in a virtual session.
