2 minutes of fame movie

this morning i watched a DVD movie, a redbox rental, '2 minutes of fame'. since i do stand-up comedy this one seemed like one i needed to see. there were some actors i recognized in it, but not a lot. sinbad had a cameo, as himself. and i had to look at the closing credits to find out it was darrell hammond who also had a cameo, as president trump. hammond was known for playing president clinton on SNL. guess i had seen a movie starring katt williams, called 'internet dating'. it was nice seeing more than one kind of comedy venue in it, and one of them was hosting a contest. this is realistic, as contests are a notable part of the comedy scene. although it was far-fetched to have a dramatic disqualification, but as the saying goes, they had to make a story out of it. also realistic to have a server at a venue also being a performer. it does capture the times we live in, where the movie title refers to the trend of those trying to become famous by having a video going viral. but in the end, i know i have seen better movies about stand-up comedy. although i don't mind that i had a discount code so i paid just over a dollar to see it.

this of course was an errand-running day. by the time the movie was done i knew i needed to go to the post office first, to pick up e-bay orders. all four were there. then it was dropping off recycle near the capitol. i had to park in a different place than typical, as there was plenty of cars and motorcycles in the way. always some activity at or near the capitol. so parked next to the drop-off bin and was really quick about it. then it was to fedex office to print some things. it included the announcement that a 3-game series for the st. paul saints was moved to their home field. i found it on their opponent's website, the winnipeg goldeyes, as it was one of three series moved. while there i bought two more posters, they were half-off. one was of paris in the 1930s, the other was superheroes at the new york world's fair in 1940. as we all know i do have plenty of world's fair postcards. finally there was returning the movie to the holiday gas station. it looks like it makes a difference as to when i go there, as i saw some godfather's pizza again. but i have been going there at the end instead of the first stop as i didn't want the candy bars to melt. so i got the pizza again, this time 3-meat instead of pepperoni. in the late afternoon i went on a walk and picked up 33 cents. in the evening it was nice watching a paid program for time-life music, love songs from the 1950s and 1960s. then it was off to the grocery store. after that i turned on fox and watched some of the baseball game, yankees beat the red sox 11-5.
