christy movie

in the evening i went to see a movie, 'Christy', at Southdale mall in Edina. i ordered an advance ticket as i wanted to use some more value from a gift card from a friend of mine. i enjoyed the movie for a while, when it was about her boxing career. but i guess i was made aware of what i had signed up for in advance, as i saw some mention of an attempted murder of the subject of this biopic. this was depicted near the end of the movie, and it was hard to watch. i said the same about the scenes before it with domestic violence, even those where it was implied and offscreen. Sydney Sweeney, who played Christy, had already defended the movie after it did poorly in its first weekend. this was likely why there was only one screening scheduled for the day at this venue, and this seemed to be largely true at other theaters in the area as well. i have seen many biopics before, and this one i am ambivalent about. i liked it when she tells off her unlikable mom, but in the end i didn't enjoy this story enough. it was the second of two movies i had seen at first-run theaters this week, and both weren't enjoyable enough. this might be why i have been going to the Trylon cinema more often lately, as the classics shown there rarely disappoint me. this wasn't the only event i was booked at for the day. in the afternoon there was a speed dating event at a coffee shop in Minneapolis that i hadn't been inside of before. i showed up a little early and was surprised when i saw a little library that included world book yearbooks to read. i let the event coordinator know there was issues with their app, as it said it was not compatible with my android phone. i was still able to do the event though, but in the survey sent to me after the event i said i hesitate to sign up for another event. when i can't even get on their app i find that hard to ignore. in addition, no one wanted to chat with me after it had ended, so i didn't exchange phone numbers with anyone. before this event, i did plenty of my typical chores and errand running. there was getting to the post office to pick up two orders. then i went to the credit union and made a deposit, followed by a stop at a copy store to print two event tickets. it was midday by then, and i ate at Popeye's chicken. i saw a food truck in a nearby parking lot and went there after having chicken. i ordered a brownie with ice cream, it was one i had seen at St. Paul Saints games but i hadn't ordered from it before.
