in the morning i watched a DVD movie, a recent purchase from goodwill, 'city slickers'. i think an instructor back at college in Iowa City had it in mind when movie cowboys were being discussed, thinking of Jack Palance in this one. the main character, played by Billy Crystal, has two friends. one of them is a pervert, reminds me of Howard from 'big bang theory' for the way he often talked. the main part of the storyline was the three friends leaving behind New York City for two weeks and going on a cattle drive in the American southwest. there are the typical clashes of personality with some of the other attendees of the cattle drive, two of them were ben and jerry ice cream knockoffs. one of them had a cellphone, which wasn't too common when the movie was filmed. there were twists and turns along the way, but it is largely a happy ending. i did a little cleanup as well around the home, a few magnets were tossed in the trash. they just didn't make the cut when i wanted to stress quality. i watched some of the pro football games on TV, the second half of the bears-ravens game. it had a wild ending, but the bears won. then i watched some of the next game as well, chiefs-bills, at home and then at the bar as i went to perform at an open mic. chiefs lost a close one. i told stories about the bank, as well as what i see on the light rail or close to it when i get to my destination. after laying down for a while once i got back from the bar, i did the dishes.
