my first day back at work after four days off. no surprise, a few things were left over from being out of the office. vacation replacement at first didn't want to send out what was listed as 'canceled' checks, but i print whatever gets approved. email from the business line wanted them sent out, so i said those two would go out at the end of the day. some mention of what i understood to be the 'hot product' error, but i am not calling a tech for that. i don't get it in the afternoon so i just try to run through as much as i can each day. there was also an impatient requestor. i saw an email early in the day, then about fifteen minutes later there was an instant message as well. it was a garden-variety check copy request. i said i had been in the office for under an hour and would get to it shortly. high volume on the Fargo check files, the volume left at day's end was two thousand. i was behind on work far enough that i decided to have a slice of pizza from a place in the skyway, instead of the can of soup in my lunch bag. i would like to think that things will get better by the end of the week, but hard to predict the volume in a week that has a holiday. the boss was in the shop, and there was a question about what business line that i have a good relationship with. i said i am thankful i don't have to contact business lines much. the boss chose the account closure group, something about test checks.
