i performed at two different venues tonight. at the first, the 'extra murder' comic was show runner. and i saw some of a college basketball game on in the bar area of the venue. it was a northwestern game vs. Nebraska, played at allstate arena in Rosemont. the northwestern wildcats are playing there this season as welsh-ryan arena is being renovated. i know how plenty of college basketball games have been played there over the years, especially DePaul, but it sounds like DePaul has moved back to campus. i saw some basketball games there when i lived in the area from 1998-2004. seeing it reminds me how i would want to make my annual visit to the area during hockey season, and see a Chicago wolves minor-league hockey game at this arena. i checked for a final score for this game and it looks like Nebraska beat northwestern 70-55. it was nice to see brawler, and school bouncer, at the first venue. it was my second time performing there. and it was a reasonable walking distance to the second venue, and no surprise how i got some photos along the way. especially when i have some space again on the memory card for my camera, after clearing out some photos i didn't need. at times i take multiple photos of something before i find one that is satisfying. it was one reason why i wanted to get back to this venue quickly, as i like getting a photo of the welcome sign of the places i have performed at. and it explains why i was the final comic at the second show, or close to it. as the shows started within an hour of each other.
i found out that interview number 6, from last week, failed to yield an offer. i was notified by email, and was disappointed to hear how no reason was given. i was informed by the agency, who doesn't seem to like it when i call myself a 'longshot', that i have a choice as to what attitude i have about it. this may be true, but i have long known that my interviewing skills are weak. and when most jobs require interviews, of course i am going to struggle in my job search. i got another appointment scheduled with a different agency for this week, had to move it up to avoid conflicts with a job fair that i want to attend. it is hard for me to be patient with the process, anyone who knows me well knows that patience isn't one of my strongest traits. when i called one agency this afternoon to inquire about my candidacy, i found out my contact was out of the office. and i felt the need to say how i have done all that i was requested to do, including to be finger-printed, and this was nearly three weeks ago. i have yet to hear about the result of interview number 5, which was nearly two weeks ago.
