i spoke of rusty Wallace, the race car driver, in my comedy set tonight as another comic did a joke about drivers and their product endorsements. this was cul-de-sac, and before rusty he spoke of dale Earnhardt, jr. something about his mom putting energy drinks in their lunches, since dale was sponsored by an energy drink company. it reminded me of how the racetrack in my hometown of newton, iowa, was designed by rusty Wallace and a street near it is named for him.
i spent a lot of time on the phone today about jobs, but still no offers. plenty of waiting, and in some cases being screened out. i did talk to some that may be helpful as advisors, for the first time in a while. one of them is with an agency that had landed me 3 interviews, but i haven't met him in person just yet. now it means trying a few things that i haven't tried before, or in a while. found out i had a career builder account already, just hadn't logged in there in a while. no regular email from them about any job postings. i also contacted my alumni chapter here in the twin cities on facebook. i know they have an outing at a Minnesota twins baseball game in july, but i don't want to wait that long to get help with the job search. but i am aware how the events they have are few and far between. the one in july is the earliest, unless one counts the iowa/Minnesota basketball game next month. and i am not immediately aware of group seating for that one like we would have at the Twins game.
