touristy or common

a classmate is in town with his family near the mall of America and asked me if that was too touristy or common for me. I say I get there every so often, and to IKEA as well. we spoke by phone in the afternoon, I was at the mall in Roseville at the time, but no time available for an in-person thing like dinner. no big deal, I know family comes first. we were just exchanging text messages at first, then we finally spoke by phone for about 20 minutes. I was on my way back to my car when it happened, about ready to leave the mall for the library, so I stayed in my car to take the call. I had to step out of my car for a brief moment as it was getting warm inside of it, and then I figured out how to get the window down without turning on the engine. I didn't buy anything at the mall, as I told myself that whatever I needed to get could probably wait until I had more money, and that means when I go bac to work. I decided this after going to jc penney, then the herberger's liquidation sale.
I spent more time job searching, and got my resume sent to two more agencies. I also applied for specific jobs with two other agencies. then in the evening I went to the karaoke bar and sang two songs. it was 'no excuses' by alice in chains, and 'mama said knock you out' by LL cool J. I chose the former after speaking with another classmate by phone, my little league teammate. and I know he likes alice in chains. I spoke of hearing another song of theirs, 'them bones', at a burlesque show. naturally we spoke a lot about baseball. I will have to play it by ear as to if he can join me at the iowa cubs baseball game in des moines this weekend. his work schedule means he gets off work at the casino in the early evening, and it wouldn't give much time to be on time for the game.
