walt kuhn

i have known this for a while-sometimes famous people have the same name. in this case, i was looking at the baseball cards from fedex office, 32 in all. and there was no name on the front of one of them. found out it was walt kuhn, who played for the white sox from 1912-1914. it was a minor-league card from playing for portland, in 1911. i found out there was another walt kuhn, due to wikipedia, who was a painter. these two men were famous around the same time. as for the painter he was known for an 'armory show' of 1913, america's first large scale introduction to european modernism. but it sounds like the lives of both of these men didn't end well. for the baseball player, he committed suicide, and the painter, he was institutionalized. i did see a postcard on e-bay of one of his paintings, it looked pretty good. and there was a baseball card for when he played for the white sox as well, if i wish to order it. when i was there i noticed some more moe berg cards, the catcher who was also a spy.

in the evening i went on a walk and picked up 50 cents. the 'big bang theory' reruns were when amy accepts sheldon's proposal and amy thanks ramona. it was followed by when sheldon leaves pasadena when the apartment is robbed, only to return when he is robbed in bozeman, montana, as well. i did a virtual open-mic after the walk. the two that got the most reaction were the ones about sponge bob, and the delivery at work. as for work, i liked how some checks arrived with a deposit slip because a personal banker was willing to deposit them so i didn't have to wait in line at the window. this was the case with three separate envelopes.
