rush movie, 1991

i watched a DVD rental movie, 'rush', around midday today. i have decided to specify that it is the one from 1991 as online searching yielded the answer that there is another movie with the same name, from 2013. i chose this one as i know it as the movie with the song 'tears in heaven' by eric clapton in it. this song is playing when we see jennifer jason leigh is running on the beach. i recognized her in it, as well as sam elliott. gregg allman, of the band known as 'allman brothers' is in it as well, but i don't know who that is too well, aside from of a few of his band's songs such as 'rambling man'. this movie is about under-cover narcotics cops, who end up doing some of the drugs. the music for this movie not only includes clapton's song but also patsy cline, and charlie daniels. most memorable to me has to be when we see somebody burn themselves with an iron, as i was asking 'why?' there is also clips from 'all in the family' and 'saturday night live' to give it a more authentic feel of being in the year 1975. the ending was stunning.

once the movie was done, i went to do laundry. during my walks for the day i picked up 56 cents. i watched game 5 of the world series after switching over from '60 minutes' which had interviews with the presidential candidates. it worked well on sitting in a chair while watching the world series, as well as being online at the time, as i was staying awake. all too often lately when i lay down in eventually will fall asleep. this is why i told myself not to lay down tonight, because i am running out of chances to watch baseball during this shortened season. dodgers beat the rays 4-2 and lead the series 3-2. the rays tried to steal home to tie the game but it was the final out of the inning. then the dodgers hit a home run in the following inning.
