drag brunch, union rooftop

I like doing things for the experience, and this was my first time at this venue and at such an event. i found a 'drag brunch' on facebook. there was two shows, i went to the first one as that one had tickets left at the time i wanted to order them. these two shows sold out weeks in advance. i chose it because i like the music of pink, and Kelly Clarkson. one of my souvenirs, besides my ticket of course, was the menu. it has a photo of the two in one corner. i ordered the French toast, called 'everybody hurts'. i had to ask why, as i knew this as an REM song. the server said the two had performed a cover of it. besides the MC there was 3 other dancers who performed for tips. there was also a celebration of those who have birthdays, or are getting married soon. i had a good time, thankful i went. i heard plenty of songs i wanted to hear. this included Kelly's 'heartbeat song' as well as pink's 'get this party started'. i wanted to make sure i would be up in time for it, so i set my alarm but i was up before it went off. i was able to get a breakfast sandwich at a holiday station, and check my PO box, before departing for the venue.
in the afternoon i hooked up my VHS player for the first time in a while, had to hook up my old TV as well. i wanted to watch the anniversary video of the st. louis cardinals from their centennial season, 1992. i watched a little of one of the NFL playoff games of the day, titans-chiefs. eventually i went out to perform karaoke, and did 2 songs. it was 'since you been gone' by Kelly Clarkson and 'get this party started' by pink. of course these selections were inspired by going to the 'drag brunch'. i also saw a lady there that i had seen before, she was there with some office colleagues. she performed 2 songs, 'piano man' by billy joel, and 'edge of 17' by stevie nicks. at one point she got confused about the name spoken by the MC, her name is similar to the MC.
