in the early afternoon i went to see a movie at the Trylon in south Minneapolis, which shows classics. it was 'three on a match', from 1932. there was a lady from an organization called 'cult film collective' if i am not mistaken who did an intro and spoke of this film being the first appearance of Humphrey Bogart as a gangster. i had to look up one thing when i got home, as some scenes were going through newspaper headlines from the 1920s. there was a headline about 'the Shenandoah' from 1925, found out this was an airship, and it exploded that year. this means the Americans had airships, and this was something not in the history books that i read. i was mainly familiar with the German airship the Hindenburg, which exploded more than a decade later. there were some twists in the storyline, and a kidnapping was a part of the story. I got a look at my tickets and i knew i liked visiting this non-profit cinema but still amazed as to how often. this was my 14th visit this year. this movie was kind of short, running time was just over an hour, but i didn't mind. it meant i had enough time to drive home and see the ending of a pro football game, bears at home against the steelers. the bears won a close game. then there was some bonus coverage, chiefs beat the colts in overtime. i watched some of the next game, eagles at cowboys, but eventually i decided to lay down as i was tired and fell asleep for over an hour. before leaving for the movie i watched a DVD, an order that i had just picked up this weekend, 'elf'. i likely hadn't seen it since i saw it at the theater, but i still liked it. what helps was having Bob Newhart in it. 'The Simpsons' was about Bart scalping tickets. i called my dad as i figured it was a good idea to connect since it was just days before thanksgiving. dad spoke of wanting to go to the casino in Osceola, Iowa.
