Hormel Wiener Winner

I went to the Iowa-Minnesota basketball game tonight at Williams Arena and liked hearing a promotion from Hormel meats, the 'Wiener winner'. It reminded me of the Twins baseball team doing this promotion, 'Great for lunch, great for dinner' but the Twins no longer do this segment. Iowa won 77-75 but it shouldn't have been this close. Iowa led by 11 at the half, and by as much as 17 in the 2nd. The 3's kept Minnesota in the game, as Minnesota was beat on the fouls and rebounds. Iowa shot well from the foul line, and had more attempts. Minnesota had 10 fouls in the first half so the double bonus was in effect. A last-second shot was waved off, the Minnesota player released it right after the backboard lit up red. It worked well on driving over to a parking lot that was two light rail stops from Stadium Village, way cheaper to park there.  Since Iowa was doing real well for a while, I had the Alfred E. Neuman attitude (what, me worry?) until Iowa's lead dwindled to less than eight in the second half. Iowa did trail, but it was by no more than four. Iowa's lead was built by hitting high-percentage shots. I had some Old Dutch BBQ chips and some bottled water there, and got a simple program for two dollars. It was basically an oversized brochure, it had the rosters for both teams on it along with some ads and little else. No big deal, it takes up less space than those programs that were printed before.
