Here, Alessia Cara

Sometimes a song is so catchy that I like it right away. This is true with 'Here', by Canadian singer Alessia Cara. She is young, just 19 apparently. This song is about going to parties and not enjoying them. I've been there, asking what we are doing here. I do understand once again why the chorus section is often called 'The hook', as this is where one hears 'Oh here', along with 'What am I doing here?' it looks like she has plenty of other songs on Youtube. And the Wikipedia page said she had posted covers of songs as early as age 13. When I spoke of this song at the comedy club tonight after the show ended, it was with Blake, he said he hadn't heard of it. I was reminded of how there are some good Canadian singers before this one, as he mentioned Avril Lavigne.
As usual, sometimes I get inspired to some jokes after hearing the comics before me. Or even with the introduction by International Falls. This led to a Steppenwolf reference.
It was a slower day at work, but at midday I liked getting Subway sandwiches in the main conference room as there was a guest telling us about Junior Achievement. My sister was in this program.
Also at the comedy club, International Falls did ones about green dress, green eye shadow, hide and seek with drunk, should have prepared better, rip out IUD, and have mom raise it. Cee-note did ones about anti-abortion billboards, Nebraska, babies are irritable, and boss critiqued his set. Blake did ones about sea monkeys, banana, check oil, Rain Man, little mermaid, undercover cop, and old man touchdown. Bus fare did ones about advertise the Bible, can we get a booth?, American flag not at half mast, Buffalo Bill liked music, ghost-busters, and Eleanor Roosevelt. Ragu did ones about red shirt at Target, birth of a nation, interview 3 ex-girlfriends, and imagine dragons. Red did ones about DTF, vacuumed, Christian science, Batman, Breakfast at Tiffany's, bipolar, and passion for life.
